Re: Lawn Bowls
Yes it's still open. I've been many times and I know of groups of people who play regularly I believe Thursday evenings. I have annual membership which saves a little each visit. The food is very good too.
I've used the pool there too after bowls. Nice and peaceful.

Have you tried Kohler or American Standard? They're both in BKK and have decent websites. Double basins are very popular now.

Re: Hua Hin bars closing at midnight
on Saturday night, the curfew was supposed to have been lifted but my husband and everyone else were ousted from Mai Tai, as the police turned up. The staff just closed up and left. Last night, shortly after midnight, the police again turned up at another bar we were at, and the staff quickly asked...

Re: Driving instructor
I was a driving instructor in the UK, sadly not allowed to give tuition here. I've learned to drive badly, just to fit in, but with the knowledge of extreme caution, at least.

Surely that depends entirely on which end of town you live and what transport you have available. I live in soi 6 and have a car, 10 minutes away, not far at all.

Re: Thai bank: customer is wrong, go to another bank
my husband and I were each granted O visas from Hull by showing sufficient funds in our UK Account, however he wasn't able to open a bank account with Bangkok Bank as they required 2 forms of photo id, and he doesn't have two. I used my UK driving licence to open my account but my husband can't hav...

Re: Re Macro
I simply asked for a temporary card on my first visit and filled in an application form for the full card, which I collected a week later. They ask if you want the card your own name or a business name. I don't have a business name so I had two cards made, one for myself and one for my husband. The...

Re: Good restaurants around Hua Hin Hospital?
We've just eaten at the Kor Sor in Borfai and it was delicious. Good menu. We decided to go for western food for a change and had a starter to share, duck a l'orange for him and chicken in mushroom sauce for me, with 3 soft drinks between us. Total 800 baht, so not a bad price, but contrary to repor...

Re: Utility bills, tolls rise from Sunday Sept. 1
Talking of utility bills, I went to pay mine this morning at the Electricity offices, and the lady there told me that from next month, they will have an office on the third floor of Market Village where bills can be paid. as she said, it might be easier if you're already heading there. However, rega...
