Re: Fitting a Bum spray gun in the UK.

I have become used to the convenience and hygeine of the bum gun and wish to take one back to the UK and ask a plumber to install it in our home there. If anyone has done this, or if anyone is a plumber with knowledge of UK sizes, water pressures and valves, then I would be grateful for some answer...

Re: WANTED: Rowing Machine

Hi I have one in Hua Hin, back there in the weekend if you would like to come and view it. Sorry new to this Board so do not quite sure how to PM you. McBarFly We’re not able to communicate via PM until you have a few more posts. If you’re available this weekend and still open to selling your machi...

Re: WANTED: Rowing Machine

Hi McBarFly, Thanks for coming back to me on this, I'd certainly like to learn more about the machine - do you have any further details of the make or model and what you'd be looking for? I think you need to have 5 posts or more before you can send someone a PM so we can either go back and forth on ...

*Closed* WANTED: Rowing Machine *Closed*

I'm looking for a dedicated piece of equipment, similar to a Concept 2 or Water Rower, as opposed to a combination machine using some form of bungee cord.

Re: The bikers thread; trips, news, chat, all things motorcycle

Our neighbour in the UK had a friend come round on a Royal Enfield a few weeks ago. It looked good, from a distance, in its matte green battle dress. Up close, it’s nothing short of agricultural and takes motorbikes back half a century. Probably great if all you want is a cheap, go anywhere bike tha...

Re: Where to buy property in/near Hua Hin

Apart from the fact that Thai will be a Chinese province in another 30 years... Oakdale160, I’m curious why you refer to Thailand as simply “Thai”, what’s the background for that? You’ve been on forum for a number of years and it seems to be how you describe Thailand so I wanted to understand why y...

Re: USB Type C Connection issue(Smart watch)

From my experience of plugging devices into computers, the connect/disconnect sound you are hearing is the computer recognising that something has been plugged in, initiating the handshake, realising that the device is not going to respond and deactivating the connection. It has nothing to do with p...

Re: Build Your Own PC/Desktop

If you’re still in God’s own country, pharvey, a good place to get PC bits at a keen price is Scan Computing. They used to offer build services, too, although I’m not sure what disruption Covid-19 has caused to that. I built one with bits from them, thinking along similar lines to Buksi, back in 201...

Re: Affects of Covid-19 on airlines

This is something affecting all aviation, not just commercial. There are hundreds of thousands of General Aviation (GA) aircraft currently grounded that have more delicate piston engine power-plants. Engine manufacturers, such as Lycoming and Continental, have service requirements whereby the engine...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News

Immunology is one of the most mind-bendingly complex of all the fields of medical studies. I still have one of my textbooks from Uni when it was part of my degree course over 25 years ago and I’m fairly sure that most of what’s in it has now been superseded with what we’ve learned from even the past...

Re: The i-things - Apple devices and software thread

when you say I will lose all of my network settings, what does this entail- what will I have to reset? TIA All you will lose is the record of network settings that the iPad has stored. So long as you have the network name and password for your WiFi networks you use, you should be fine. You will not...

Re: The i-things - Apple devices and software thread

You could try the ‘reset network’ option that is in the same place as resetting the whole thing. You won’t lose any data but all your network settings will be erased. Could be worth a try, I’ve done it a few times on errant i-devices when they get too clever for their own good and stop connecting.

An excellent article with some very compelling simulations that should help improve understanding of how countries around the world are tackling the epidemic:
