the doctor proceeded to ask my wife lots of questions in Thai. Though he knew my daughter spoke Thai and was perfectly capable of answering for herself. it was probably easier for him to speak Thai knowing your wife and daughter could explain it all to you can't see why there should be such a fuss ...

In any country out of Asia you will pay a lot more for Thai food, being in restaurant or Thai speciality shop, it is called "exotic food" and imported therefore expensive
Same goes here for "farang food" as it is "exotic food" and imported therefore expensive

went to Bluport Tuesday and Thursday and there was surprisingly a lot, a lot of tourists in various restaurants and shops so we must now be in the high season
it's probably the cold and windy weather that drew them in !! not able to beach bum

Make Thais pay for their packets and they will soon learn. Plastic bags can't be recycled so they are just tossed anywhere. Let's face it, you don't often see a soda can or a bottle on the side of the road because they can earn you a baht. To achieve things here, the baht has to be in the equation ...
