Re: Biggest Benefit to Being Expat

The need for a tax certificate when leaving the country was discontinued, not the requirement for residents to file tax returns. Anyway, I was only disputing the "no taxes" as an advantage to living here. I think there's another thread about tax, but when it comes to tax maybe ignorance is bliss. :)

Re: Biggest Benefit to Being Expat

If you're resident in Thailand (i.e. more than 180 days per tax year) then you are legally obliged to file a tax report. The fine for not doing so is a whopping 200 baht per year missed, as I was told when I visited the tax office a couple of months ago.

Re: Instant Messaging

I use both LINE and WhatsApp. Each has its good points. LINE can be used from your PC, which is useful if the phone is out of action for whatever reason. However backing up and restoring LINE is a real pain. With WhatsApp you can set automatic backups to sd card or cloud and recovery is really easy ...

Yes. They certainly do rabies shots there (used to anyway) so possibly can treat snake bites too.

Sorry, my mistake. I came across it the other day and obviously remembered the wrong name. It's Lazada Wallet. http://www.lazada.co.th/payment-methods/.

Re: Electricity Outage 14 Dec 2017 - Bon Kai

Just to expand on the Bo Fai outage. This applies WEST of the khlong road. Places mentioned include the 7-11, KorSor resort, Resident Hua Hin, Natural Hill, Suan Pak Naam, Sunset (or Sanches or similar - hard to read), Baan Sap Thani, Noble House, Taradon(?) Resort.

Hope this helps.

Re: Snake bites in Thailand - medical attention

Probably Hua Hin hospital has antivenin available, and possibly the Red Cross clinic, as I believe it's the Red Cross that produces the stuff.

This web page is worth reading: https://www.thailandsnakes.com/tag/sna ... first-aid/

@BB Maybe you could consider using Lazadapay if you use Lazada often. Refunds are made via Lazadapay.

Provincial Chief Prosecutor's Office. Although bigger, it seems to have progressed faster than the much discussed new immigration office.
