Re: Getting to HH from Khanom near Surat Thani
Thanks for the input brianks, I'll investigate bus timings etc, but isn't there massive road works and big contra flows? I spoke with Toon who just sent his wife to HH and he said train was better. Charlie from CC beach bar said the winds 120+ kph with horizontal rain and waves that came into the th...

Hi all, As the title says we are in Khanom and fed up of the wind. it's dropped to 45 kph now but just not pleasant... and most of my pants have been blown to Malaysia, so thinking of coming up to Hua Hin for a couple of days, and looking at transport oprtions. I'm guessing that the lack of googlabl...

Thai bank account on a tourist visa... possible?
Hi all, We are coming back to LoS over xmas and new year (2014) part holiday, part property scoping for a permanent move from the UK. We have a week in Bangkok and 2 weeks in HH, and wondered if there a Brit friendly bank in HH that would open an account for us so we could start to make deposits in ...

Essentially retired but 'something to do'
WeI've tried retiring once before and got bored doodooless, even in paradise I reckon I'd be bored... but with a tan. So not a major income source, more a pastime that earned a few bob. Given that serious poop you can be in for working without a permit, would the authorities accept a small dog kenne...

Legality of setting up a dog care centre
Bumping an old thread rather than start a new one. Would a small kennels (boarding and breeding) be a viable business in Hua Hin, and would it be possible to apply for a WP to set one up?

Re: Another newb'
I understand what you mean Dannie, my 1st Thai trip was Pattaya in '95 for a week and I really didn't like it much, but we left there and spent 4 days in BKK, then 2 weeks in Koh Samui and I was hooked. Since then I have been back to BKK, Chiang Mai, Phuket twice and HH last year. I am warming to La...

Re: Another newb'
After day 3 I was considering it, but your right we paid for the apartment when we arrived and a car for 2 weeks too. Then we have the flights, as we are routed Langkawi - Singa, Singa - Zurich. It's not that Langkawi is bad, it's ok.... just not as good as Thailand.
