Re: Retirement extension based on income not lump sum
Just done this for the first time, as previous years I held enough cash here to qualify for the lump sum route. But, things being how they are at the moment, I no longer keep large amounts here now. Down loaded the forms, wnt to the PO and they did it all for me....sent EMS. One week later, still no...

Re: Honda Bigwing Hua Hin
Be aware that the location map on Facebook shows them by Cha Am railway station! Not correct. The new site is opposite Isuzu on the main road out of Hua Hin. They open next week, and although a small workshop, it looks well equiped and a better bet than the trip to BKK. I bought a new CB 650 F from ...

Re: Water supplies to residential areas
It seems I am alone in my experience of non water supply for the last three weeks. I also have a large tank holding about 12 cu metres of water, which is soon depleted with showers, loo flushing, swimming pool top up and garden watering. I have visited the PWA web site, a very informative and profes...

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Shiva Indian Restaurant
Majestic does good food and is more of a day time location. It is quite a way from Hua Hin, and wasn't the right place, in this instance, for what Pon and I wanted.
We went to a few places in Hua Hin, but the location at Shiva rang the right bell!
Very happy we made that choice.

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Shiva Indian Restaurant
I chose Shiva to entertain my friends and celebrate my engagement to Pon, my future wife. We chose to do this on Valentines night, when they have a Thai singer, and chose our own menu for the evening. They set a seperate table in the garden area, were very attentive and gave great service, with exce...

Re: Water supplies to residential areas
Again we rang the PWA local office today, and my wife who is normally a very polite and curteous girl, got very irritated with the same Thai lady telling her the supply will be fixed 'soon' and told her to stop lying and tell her the truth. Why no water for over two weeks. Her response was, ' if you...

Re: Water supplies to residential areas
I live onSoi 56, a development called Pavilion. We had 'government' water supply to the site, completed anout six months ago and all has been good. Until last week, when the supply stopped suddenly. Despite numerous calls to the PWA office, and constantly being told the supply will be 'back on ' soo...

Re: DHL tracked post
I have now lived in Hua Hin for over two years, so my concern was what do I do when my Nationwide bank card expires. I have to use this with a card reader, to generate a code to enable me to transfer money from the UK to my Kasikorn account. I use my sister's address in the UK for all pension or ban...

Re: The bikers thread; trips, news, chat, all things motorcy
World Super Bikes comes to Thailand. Now it has beenconfirmed that Thailand will host a round on the WSB in March next year. The newly opened circuit in Burirum, The Chang Circuit, will be the venue. Have searched for flights from BKK and it seems Don Mang has a regular flight, and will increase the...

Re: Where to buy Honda CB650F
Just checked the route and it is 460k, and shows a 5 hour trip. Did you do it there and back in a day? How good was the service, did they do it straight away when you arrived? Maybe an overnight stay in a cheap local hotel would be a good plan, or make it part of a few day trip down southern Thailan...

Re: Where to buy Honda CB650F
I am looking at buying a new Honda too, the CBR 500 r is great value at 210,000 baht. The downside is that all the big Hondas have to go back to Big Wing for service, and BKK or Pattaya, are the nearest branches to Hua Hin. The CBR needs valve shims checked at 1000 k's, so almost a run from BKK, a b...

Have True Visions package, about 1600 bht per month, and just watch the Golf Channel, some HBO movies, when they are not continual repeats! And watch all the bike and car racing on Fox. There are so many Thai channels on there, just skip through them searching for something to watch! Can anybody reco...
