Re: Transfer UK Visa to new Thai passport

Hi Grove,

Thanks for that info. Have you had to get visas for other countries, and have they accepted the UK 10 year visa being in an old thai passport ?

Thanks

Transfer UK Visa to new Thai passport

Hi, My Thai wife has a 10 year UK Visa. She has now got a new Thai passport. Do we need to get the visa transferred to the new Thai passport, or can we just show the old Thai passport ? We also need to get a new Schengen visa and have to show the UK Visa as that is where we go afterwards. I have loo...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

It's now midnight on Soi 80 and it is raining harder than ever. Light rain all afternoon, heavier rain in the evening and very heavy now. Wunderground says that it is partially cloudy with no rain and AccuWeather isn't much better. The Thai met.office satellite pictures show.a green rain cell overhe...

His favourite programme to listen to is 'Sorry, I Haven't a Clue'.

Respect ! Theres a lot of newly minted Brits who wouldn't get the humour in that. Your Thai may be disappointed when conversing with many brits in HH.

Re: Four year smart visas for top earning expats to launch next month

ha ha.

Presumably, these high earners will be liable to Thai tax if they stay here more than 6 month of the year, and this is an easy way to find them as they will tell the authorities how much they earn and where they live. That would be 'Smart' !

Re: Arrival to carousel time at BKK airport?

if you are waiting for the bus at the airport, don't go outside, or back upstairs. Go downstairs towards the train. There is a very comfortable large Coffee World and 20 other places to eat/drink/relax. It never seems to get busy either. I have gone there before if I get to the airport too early and...

Re: Importing Sporting Equipment

Where and who you deal with will depend on where it is shipped from and who it is shipped from. If you can find this item in Japan or another Asian nation, then that will probably be your cheapest option, both from shipping cost and also the tax amount - a look at the thai customs site gives a list ...

Re: Bintabaat shut down at 12.15 by masked police!

I am told by someone in the area that poolsuk was shutdown before 12.30, so later than bintabaht, but not much. Karaoke area untouched (my informant left there at 2.30 am).

The big question is what happens on New year's Eve.

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

I went down immigration in Bluport last week, and asked about retirement extension and they told me 45 days before was ok (only in the main place - not bluport). Which is great as I can do it this month before immigration gets jammed with tourists in January. I think last year was only 30 days before.

Our 12 year old Panasonic 42 inch plasma comes in at 40kg excluding stand, box etc. Can still cook an egg on top (average power 341 watts ! ). Definitely a 2 man job. Unlike the new 42 inch LED, which is cool, and can be carried easily by one person. At some point It will stop (no maintenance or fix...

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News

Went past it at 10m this morning. Was going to stop and try it out. Sign advertising breakfast was on the pavement, but the shutters were down and chairs on the tables. Anyone know what time it opens at ? Even 10am is too late if it wants any breakfast trade. I didn't see any info on the FB page.

True Visions Footbal Package

Looking at the true website, it appears you can get a Premier League football package for 299 baht a month. Does anyone have any experience of this ? Do you also have to buy a main package (say family) and then pay the 299 baht extra ? Is it all HD ? I have experience of True staff in the shops here...

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration office at Bluport

Just popped in and literally no customers. 5 staff, all very friendly. They do 90 day reporting, but don't do the yearly renewal. Good coffee outside, but I can never see having to wait that long to have enough time to get one. Can see HH immigration being the envy of the rest of Thailand ! Give it ...

Re: Blueport: The Wine connection

They have 132 places in Thailand, and the website seems very professional. I have also eaten there many times and service is very iffy if you try to ask them anything about the food. Staff don't seem to like coming forward after that. oils for salad always have to be asked for. Generally the food is...
