Re: Khao Tao Lake
Yes, it has loads of fish - I think stocked as a Royal initiative each year to feed the local people (I'm not sure about that, but they certainly put a lot of fish in each year). The snakeheads are the prized beasts, but you need live bait for those. Some very large fish, as well as all of the usual...

Re: The 90 Day Report Thread
A friend has just e-mailed me - her 90 day online report has just been rejected, so definitely still a 50/50 chance of acceptance.

Re: Speed Cameras
The one time I was caught, it was a mobile camera, and I received it in the post.

Re: Speed Cameras
berlinmichael, I travel that road daily, and apart from the cameras near Vana Nava, I can't spot any cameras. I'd love to know where they are. What I will say, is when I first came to Thailand, I didn't have a clue what the speed limit was and drove at UK speeds on motorways. Yes, I was caught by a ...

Re: RIP Frank Ifield
Strangely, as I read the subject, I remember you went through my mind
What I do remember is as a kiddie, trying to sing this one - badly, by the way (I wasn't a fan, but I think I had an auntie who was)

Yes, I think we all start with 12 points and depending upon the severity of your offence, you are losing 1 or 2 points each time. When you get to zero, you lose your licence for a period. Re: Birds of Thailand
Actually, we have a pole similar to yours right outside our house. I've often sat on our front porch watching Golden Tree Snakes going up and down the pole with ease. They are amazing if they lose their grip and fall a little. I could watch their recovery time and time again with astonishment.

Re: Thai Football 2023/24
I said this could happen. Here are the 4 teams at the bottom of T1: Picture1.jpg The Sukhothai line should read: Picture2.png In the game vs Ratchaburi, the score was Sukhothai 1 - 0 Ratchaburi. Ratchaburi equalised in the final minute, but the ref disallowed it. The Ratchaburi President accused the...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
Coming back from Khao Tao, the road around Suan Son was very wet, with a lot of surface water. Coming down quite steadily at my house now - just off 94.

Re: Khao Tao Lake
Looking at them tarting up the shoddy concrete work today, and I had a vision.................. As we've seen, about 2/3rds of the perimeter wall has been left open. I was thinking how modern it would look if those gaps were filled in with huge panes of black reflective glass. I'm not sure that it w...

Re: Hotel near Suvarnabhumi
I've travelled with my son when he's travelled to the area with some of his students for events at the local Uni. Because they are Thai, they've been booked into the 600 to 800฿/night places. They are OK, but not really very nice. I could name a few, but wouldn't actually recommend them.

Re: Hotel near Suvarnabhumi
BS Residence (non-pool view) may still meet your requirement, depending on dates. Don't forget the convenience of inclusive airport transfers.
Plus, if you're travelling to Suvarnabhumi by the airport bus, the transfer from airport to hotel is also included.

If they beat 6th placed Ratchaburi in the final game, they move above us.
