Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin

Guys, can you please stop discussing this event. Notification will be given in the correct thread when it is known what is happening.

Nobody knows yet, and any discussion would be no more than speculation.

Re: UK visa for Thai wife/girlfriend

One thing you have to remember ahandpatsy is there is no guarantee that the agent will be any more successful than you would be doing it yourself. Basically, all the agent will do is tell you what you need, but you will have to do all of the footwork. I have a friend who went through an agent, and i...

A few of those clips were not Khao Takiab, and not a monkey to be seen. Mention Khao Takiab to a lot of people, and the first thing they think of is monkeys.

I'm just back from the football. During the match, wave after wave of very black cloud crossed the stadium, but in true Hua Hin fashion, not a drop of rain fell.

So the likes of 7-11 were illegal :?

I actually agree with you by the way, but how many put their prices up on day 1, irrespective of whether or not it was old stock?

I've just come back from Tesco, and all of their boxes of beer, soft drinks etc seem to have remained unchanged in price.

Re: Routine Eye Sight tests in Thailand

I have one complaint about Dr. Parirat. I've used reading glasses for computers since my early 40s. Last time I saw Parirat, I told him I wanted a prescription for both normal and reading glasses. He said what distance do you read at? Showed him between this (laptop hinge at knees) and this (arm ex...

Re: Melbourne woman drowns at Phuket beach after ignoring warning signs

That's what I thought, so the reference to Australians and the flags and colours was a bit of a red herring. Are we saying if they see a red flag only (or pink or orange) they wouldn't understand it? Flags or safety in general here in Thailand are scarce to say the least. Even if flags were standard...

Re: Melbourne woman drowns at Phuket beach after ignoring warning signs

Well picked up, yes, but what do Australians do if they can't see a Yellow flag?

I raised the question about flags a few years ago when doing my beach walks. Hardly any to be seen, and of those that I did see, most looked as though they had forgot to take them down.
