Re: Easy fishing in Hua Hin

Just back from the beach, and I can confirm a horrible stench (not the same as a couple of nights ago). Reports I'd read so far had talked of baby fish. Yes, there were a lot of small fish on the beach (nowhere near as many as there were in the photos, so somebody has done a great clearing jub). Wha...

Re: Alcohol ban on Hua Hin and Thai beaches?

I've just come back from my usual Soi 75 to Marakesh walk. No sign of any such signs on that stretch.

I'm not saying it is this time, but we have to remember that some other forums are notorious for their fake news. Hopefully Steve can confirm one way or another tomorrow.

I won't be going near the Centara, but I'll be down there soon. If I see anything, I'll take a photo.

Call to ban booze on royal cremation day An anti-drunk driving group is urging the government to ban sales of alcoholic beverages on Oct 26 in honour of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Jetsada Yamsabai, a core member of the Bangkok-based group, yesterday led a group of 30 victims of drunk-driving...

Re: Certified translation of marriage cert for yellow book

Not wanting to be negative, and I know the road to a Yellow Book is easier in Bang Saphan, but none of the documentation I had translated in Hua Hin was acceptable. Also, marriage certificate was not required when I got my Yellow Book. Being positive , I obtained my original translations from ...

Re: Easy fishing in Hua Hin

Has anybody seen an official report about a very bad smell before the fish showed up? I've seen unofficial reports, but nothing official.

I ask because I was walking the beach and smelt something awful, while my son who was with me, couldn't; and one of our dogs was very ill.

Re: Snakes in the house and garden

Unfortunately, we do have our share of snake fatalities, but that's due to our dogs, who think they're protecting us, and don't have the intelligence to tell venomous/non-venomous. I'm gradually educating Mrs BB that they do good, and we need them. This particular little guy was brilliant once he go...

Re: Snakes in the house and garden

No problem, I get distracted as much as anybody else  . Back on track, this baby has moved in with us. It's a 4' long Golden Tree Snake. It was sunbathing on top of our gate when we got home this morning. In almost a blink of an eye, all 4' had disappeared into the frame of the gate - amazing ...

Not sure what the UK requirements have to do with Thailand?
After you said you couldn't understand the requirement, I was just pointing out that a similar requirement was necessary for a freebie in the UK.

Re: Vasectomy anyone?

I'm fairly sure that was a NHS requirement as well. We had to go through counselling sessions, that took longer than the op, first. If you don't have kids, I guess you have to go elsewhere and pay.

Guys, this thread is about Hua Hin's police, not International Driving Permits, and requirements to drive in Thailand.
