Tesabaan has installed two very large and constantly noisy water pumps within 2 metres of our house
When we were out of the country last year, the local tesabaan began installing a water pump system, in order to pump water to a nearby village. The pumps are installed on the public land (din-luang) adjacent to the highway. There are two water pumps, within about two metres of the outside wall of ou...

Re: Mobile phone registration
Thanks, you're very positive, it's good to know that! I was also about to start a thread about how bad the stock control, deficient management and quality of food is at the new Big-C store in Cha-am, but on that positive note, I shan't do it!Big Boy wrote:No Sam, it was easy. Re: Mobile phone registration
Without wishing to sound negative, this sounds like it could be quite an ordeal for those with several prepaid SIM cards and devices for personal calls, work calls, a tablet device, laptop USB modem etc. I expect the process will confuse the shop assistants and they will no doubt request the custome...

Re: Careless damage to alloy wheel at Toyota Cha-am
Below are better close-ups, from the inside also. I can appreciate the difficulty of removing the weights and cleaning up the surface, but surely there must be a better way than using an angle-grinder. Anyway, it should be resolved now.

Re: Careless damage to alloy wheel at Toyota Cha-am
I have been to Cha-am Toyota and the manager who oversees both the Cha-am and Tha Yang service centres was there, which was quite fortuitous. Both her and the manager below were very apologetic. They thanked me for bringing it to their attention and said that they need customers to tell them when th...

Re: Careless damage to alloy wheel at Toyota Cha-am
Thanks for the reply. It's good to get another's view. I recognise of course that removal of the old weights is difficult without causing a small amount of damage to a small area of the alloy surface. This of course is well beyond what was necessary to do because the grindings extend almost half way...

Careless damage to alloy wheel at Toyota Cha-am
I'd be grateful for a reasonable opinion on this please. I reported a steering problem when I had my new car's first service at Toyota Cha-am (stiff to turn left, but not to turn right). Without my knowledge, the mechanic simply rebalanced the nearside wheel, although there was nothing wrong with wh...

Re: Touch Up paint!!
I also visited a Toyota main dealer to obtain touch-up paint and they do not have any such product. I do not know of any good motor outlets, of the kind we're used to in UK and elsewhere but others who are more familiar with Hua Hin than I am, may be more helpful and point out some reasonable shops....

Re: Cha-am Fibre Internet, alternative to TOT, almost unusab
Thanks Dannie, that is certainly quick... 6 Mb/sec is fine just so long as it works consistently.
Incidentally, here is the offending junction box that TOT isn't interested in replacing.

Re: Cha-am Fibre Internet, alternative to TOT, almost unusab
I might enquire from 3BB, since you are using them outside Cha-am. How often does the service fail, if you don't mind me asking? My problem is two-fold here. The wire terminals inside the telephone junction box outside the house (in the street) are rusty. The TOT man 'fixed' it in 2012 but didn't fi...

Cha-am Fibre Internet, alternative to TOT, almost unusable
I am located 5 km outside Cha-am town, heading towards Bangkok. I am looking to change from TOT's ADSL service, because of constant reliability issues and the company's inability to resolve them. Some years ago I was interested in using 3BB but while its service covered Cha-am, it did not cover the ...

Re: Alternative to P&A Notary
Thanks very much for the replies. May I ask, what documentation does Immigration require? Given that the purpose of the vehicle registration letter is a kind of proof of address, is there anything required to substantiate that?Pagey wrote:No they do it straight away

Re: Alternative to P&A Notary
Thanks. Am I right in thinking that takes three days? Unfortunately there isn't time now, as I've been waiting for the letter from the aforementioned.benmo wrote:Immigration provide this service

Alternative to P&A Notary
Please can anyone suggest a reliable alternative to P&A Notary, for the purposes of obtaining a letter confirming my address for motor vehicle registration in a foreigner's name?
I have used P&A Notary over the years but now finding its service to be unhelpful and unresponsive.
Thanks.
