Re: Where did you meet your girlfriend or wife?

My wife, now ex-wife in an elevator.

Re: Men and their mistresses

I never suggested that ALL women in their 50s have lost interest just talking about the ones who have and yes there ARE some out there who are glad to be free of the hassle and the guilt but they don't go around talking about it..

Re: Knee Replacement

In general the quoted prices at BKK hospital are NOT much of a guide to what you will be billed.

Re: Thai travelling to Thailand on UK passport

good point. The airlines insist that not only is the PP still valid but that you have 6 months left before it expires. One time I was in Cambodia and no one would sell me a ticket to BKK, as my pp had only 4 months to go. I had to come by bus. I was ready to offer baht at the border but got thru wit...

Re: Baggage at airports: Is that your bag sir?

I too have done it, not from carrousel but took the wrong one from the overhead rack. I realised before I got to the gate and the agent took it off me and i went back for correct one. I have now painted with acrylic paint a sign on both sides

I always smile when in the mall I hear them singing about rides in a --One horse open sleigh. In all my years in Thai I have never seen a OHOS.

Re: Arrival to carousel time at BKK airport?

How long is a piece of string. At the same time of day, it can take 5 mins or 2 hours to get through immigration. I go through the 'elderly' line on the right as you go through and there it is 10-30 mins. Similar story at carousal anything from bags being there after you leave immigration to an hour...

Now children, I know you will find it difficult to believe.
But when I was a little boy, Santa travelled alone.
In those days he didn't need a security detail.

Re: mobile/internet coverage Hua Hin

brought back a memory. About 7 or 8 years ago, HH announced that it would be the first community in Thai to have free city-wide Wifi. A few units were installed along PK but then stopped. The story I heard was that the person given the contract had left town with all the money allocated for the proj...

To StevePIraq
I am not sure that it is an inability to be serious, I have worked with Thai people who were very serious about their work.
BUT, they have NO sense that anything can be changed, much less that any effort by an individual or group can bring about change.

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

So true caller-- We all agree NOTHING will change, It is one of the things that you have to accept, just put it on the con side of the pro/con assessment of the place. I knew one UK couple who left after 18 months in Thai. they had 2 near-misses on the roads and the traffic was their BIG reason for ...
