Re: Menu/food prices rising in Thailand
Maybe we don't live in Europe or buy food there but we do buy European foods here in Thailand. Look at the extent of Euro sourced foods in Villa Market for example. In the last 12 months all of these products have significantly increased in price.....

German Beer
I'm a particular fan of German beer especially out of Bavaria. My favourite is probably HB Original (Hof Brau) out of Munich which I enjoy at Juergen's Cafe and Khao Tao Beach Lodge. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy this wholesale in Hua Hin? TIA

Re: Replacement knee surgery
Thanks again for the responses! I have seen two orthopaedic doctors here in Hua Hin and had an X-ray. The original problem is damage to a much reduced meniscus in both knees though one much worse than the other. The last doctor thought that if the cortisone injection didn't help ( it didn't!) then h...

Big Boy thanks for sharing your son's experience. I was wondering how long is the stay in hospital? Are you able to walk (with crutches maybe) after the operation? and what is full recovery time expected to be?

Replacement knee surgery
I've had problems with my knees for many years now. In recent years I've managed to balance activities / exercise with the need to rest and recuperate. This year, however, the painful knee has become much worse and all activity has ceased. Two cortisone injections so far this year has not improved t...

Re: Which Hua Hin Area Attraction Is Your Number 1
I had my Thai brother in law and wife from Bangkok as visitors last week. The highlight they told me was the kite surfing school at the Anchor Bar, Khao Tao Beach. Watching the surfers in the late afternoon sun was spectacular - it was very windy! I didn't have the sea food but was told it was fresh...

Retirement Visa Upgrade
I currently have a standard retirement visa which does not allow travel outside of Thailand. I'm planning a trip to the UK next month and aware that I need to change my visa to allow exit and re entry. My question is do I need to book my flights before going to Immigration therefore having the dates...

Re: Hua Hin live music scene
Pre covid I was a regular at Rock Zone before it moved to its current location. The band Thairish played several nights a week and were excellent. I have since seen them play at Coco 51 and The Pub but recently they seem to have disappeared. I don't go into town much these days but I wondered if any...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
I would be reluctant at this time to purchase an EV. The fear is the continued development of battery technology could make your EV almost redundant (and therefore worthless) overnight. I am sure they will become more efficient with improved range and quicker battery charging but who knows when? And...

Re: Thailand tourism situation
I have experience of Russians and their dreadful behaviour. There are significant numbers in Berlin where their loutish, rude and loud behaviour is blatant and deplored. Some years ago I stayed at Hard Rock Hotel, Pattaya which had a group of Russian tourists. The guys were typically loutish, loud a...
