Re: Trip Report - Flying With Jet Airways

Having returned now I want to just let you all know my thoughts about Jet Airways. Outward (LHR BOM) the flight was OK - not full, but the cabin crew just didn't seem to care. We had lots of room, but getting water to drink wasn't easy! No tours by the stewards offering soft drinks (or alchohol), an...

Re: Money exchange

SunandFun The whole point about the Halifax Clarity is that there are no charges for using it overseas and the exchange rate is unloaded. Last time I used it was in France (20Nov2013) when a purchase for 100.05 Euro was exchanged at 1.1953 for a total cost of £83.70. (The quoted rate that day was 1....

Re: Money exchange

...if you're buying GBP cheques with GBP how could anyone not charge you for them (unless they've made a mistake or you're a VIP customer)? So the exchange rate is better for TCs, and if you're only paying 30 baht or so change £200 then that would be the best value (if they cost you nothing). I'll o...

Re: Money exchange

I've just checked on another web site and it seems banks may charge 30 baht per travellers cheque, so TCs are not cheap - and the Post Office charges 1.5% for getting them. So I think cash still seem like best value (unless you put your Halifx Clarity into credit in which case you'll get spot rate a...

Re: Money exchange

..Halifax Clarity card remains the best card to use abroad. There's no transaction fee. Even if you get cash out, there's still no fees, and you can avoid highish interest rates on the credit card by ensuring your card is in credit before you leave. Having said that, I prefer to bring cash for curr...

Re: Trip Report - Flying With Jet Airways

..have to say Jet Airways seems to be s good option. I think we all want space on a flight, and at the moment the flights look very light - I've been able to book good seats via the web and if available seats is anything to go by, we could find ourselves moving back to strech out. We flew in and out...

Re: Trip Report - Flying With Jet Airways

..we're just transiting - so hopefully just going from one gate to another. Outward through Mumbai, return through Delhi. I'm concerned about the reported molesting at security.

Khao Hin Lek Fai Mountain/Flintstone Hill for joggers?

Hi I read that some people run/job up to the viewpoints? Anybody know how far it is from the Hilton and how long it would take a two hour half marathoner? Is the route on road or trails? It's something I may want to do - if it's not too hot in February - I ran the Bangkok marathon a few years ago......

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

...so the concensus is that the bus is more comfortable than a taxi? Is the taxi much quicker? My wife and are due to arrive BKK at 8.00am 5th Feb - are there any protests planned for that day?

Thanks

Re: Trip Report - Flying With Jet Airways

Hi,

Travelling to HH via BKK using Jet Airways in a couple of weeks. Any update on Mumbai or Dehli airports? Is security still a nightmare?
