Re: It will all be alright !

I am a long time visitor and pre Covid came over to HH 2/3 times per year with my family. We were over in March this year, not long after the country opened up and found that about 80% of shops and bars in the Bintabaht block were closed. The bars and restaurants which were open had very few custom...

Post Covid Hua Hin observations

I’ve been a member of this forum since January 2014 and although I rarely contribute, I’m a regular reader and feel the information shared gives me an indication of what to expect during our annual visit to the town. I’m guessing, but I think the majority of members on this forum live in Hua Hin wit...

The oil's gone, but now the sea's green !

After just returning from eight enjoyable days in Hua Hin – which involved a 3 hour walk on the beach each day in the area between the Hilton & Khao Takiab, I can honestly say the oil problem reported earlier on this forum has gone. This is based on the official, “dots of oil on the bottom of yo...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Although I appreciate the regular updates on the weather on this thread, but which external site have you found to be the most accurate for a short term forecast (1 to 7 days). ?

Re: A lot of BIG Jellyfish at the moment

FYI - we walked a couple of miles along the beach everyday from 14th-22nd Feb and only saw a couple over the 9 day period. Hopefully the problem is reducing now.
(But the one's we saw were huge !)

Re: Sand flies in Hua Hin?

Yes, it was very bad this evening (no idea about other evenings). We walk about 5 miles, so fairly widespread. Is it worse than any other Thai beach at dusk? No idea. Any update please - is it still a problem and just as widespread ? Would you advise bringing any fly repellent with us (we arrive ov...

Any idea what the proposed renovations are .... ?
Like Heathcliff81 above, we're booked in for the new year so I'm pretty interested.

Bars closed due to public holiday

There were many bars closed last night (Friday) due to a public holiday. Rumour has it that this is a 3 day holiday.......although there were still some bars open, it was certainly quieter than normal. Does anyone know if this will continue over the full weekend ?

Re: Absolute best german food in town

' All in Hua Hin' is good too with a wider variety. Schnitzel, fried potatoes and large salad to die for. More expensive though Vastly overrated IMHO. Have been dragged there kicking and screaming on a number of occasions over the years. Have usually left full, but rarely satisfied. As you are a se...
