Re: International Fleet Review 2017 - Pattaya

There's a great photo on the front page of today's Bangkok Post; is shows band members of the fleet, dressed in whites, parading through ankle deep water.

guess the PM is concerned about what the people like-- he must be up for re-election soon.
If you haven't been elected how do you get re-elected?

Re: New drivers must take longer theory training

Theory is good, now, how about some behind the wheel training and parking instruction and, maybe, how to make a 3 point turn as opposed to backing down the street to the corner, reversing into the road then going forward.

Re: Thailand Plans Joint Arms Factory With China

That's great, the world needs more armaments. I seem to recall that it was part of the deal with buying Chinese subs. I've heard that Kenya is planning an attack on Thailand so it's a good thing that there will be a stronger defence system in place.

Re: Mold in buildings in Thailand

I use a spray bottle with 500 liters of water and about a tablespoon of bleach. Either that's: 1) A homeopathic remedy, or 2) You're a world champion power lifter, or 3) You meant milliliters. :D The correct answer is 3. :( After a lifetime of thinking in ounces I still haven't mastered the table o...

Re: Mold in buildings in Thailand

I use a spray bottle with 500 liters of water and about a tablespoon of bleach. Let it sit until the mold is gone, rinse with clear water and dry. Tea Tree oil will do the same thing but it's more expensive. I get it on the shower walls and glass shower door.

Thai news talked about how many millions of Baht it would bring to Pattaya. I'm sure the ladies will do well.

Re: Thais rank low again at English

If you're wealthy you can always pay someone else to do everything for you. I did have a good language experience at Tesco-Lotus today; I was holding 3 packages of meats and struggling to fill a 4th with ground pork when a lovely Thai woman came up to me, said, "Let me help.", took the bag from my h...

Re: Liver Tonic

MLS is correct; Milk Thistle is a liver cleanser and detoxifier. Check iherb.com. They ship to Thailand from the U.S. I've been dealing with them for years. It generally takes about 2 weeks to receive a package. They have discount prices and the shipping is via DHL/Thai post. They also have articles...

hhfarang, ditto here, it's the humidity. I lived in Florida for 19 yrs. and never got used to it there either but the desert in New Mexico and Arizona was fine. What I really miss are seasons. Well, the list is longer than that but I don't want to start a whine.

Re: The Digital Surgery

When you're not going to use the printer for, let's say, a week, take out the printer cartridges, wrap them in plastic wrap and put them in a sealed plastic bag. This will keep them form drying out. The last time I had my printer in for service the repairman told me to use it daily to keep it from d...

Re: House location now required by visa extension

I've always had to provide a map to my house. The difficult part is where to start the map. Lincoln, Nebraska, Adelaide, South Australia? Eventually I settled on Klong Rd. and that seemed acceptable. But really the whole thing is silly. If they want to find you they'll look up your address on google...
