Distance makes a difference. I'm halfway between Bluport/MV & Makro and driving Klong Rd. is easier than Petchkasem.

Re: Pros and Cons of Colonization

Attention: We all must remember that Europessimist is always right. Really ? You will soon let us believe that they were not occupier as they were cordially welcomed by the Thai government, knowing that their glorious army cannot fight them, I'm sorry about your inability to comprehend a simple sen...

Re: Hua Hin Supermarkets

Gourmet market is much more expensive than other markets. I don't buy alcohol so I wont comment on that. Ex: Canola oil spread at Makro is 89 bht. and at Gourmet it's 99 bht. Not a big difference but when you buy 20 products at a 10 bht. increase it adds up. The membership card does give you a 5% di...

Re: Pros and Cons of Colonization

Thai was never colonized....555...big joke. They forget Japanese occupation..WWII About the past, the real reason of never been colonized is: Brits and French wanted to keep a buffer zone between them. Even if colonization was not always good, we must admit the benefits for colonized. The main rema...

Re: Pros and Cons of Colonization

Not too many benefits in India, Pakistan, The middle east, Africa. The British took over, made a mess and left it a mess. Ditto the French, Spanish and Portuguese. Most of the European messes have been cleaned up the British messes remain. I often wonder why the Middle Easterners are always mad at t...

There's also Golden Place for organic fruits and veges and Thai foods. It's in a plaza across from Index/Villa. Many of the foods are from the Royal Project started by the late King.

Re: Hua Hin police to get tough on motorbike helmets

I'm not including foreigners in my comments. I assume you'll can ride. However, I guess you haven't seen the Thai motorcyclists roaring up and Petchkasem road north of Soi 2. They greatly exceed the speed limit, weave in and out of traffic and present a danger to other drivers. Helmets don't compen...

Re: IHERB delivery

Recently they've changed from FedEx to DHL and the deliveries take about 2 to 3 weeks longer. Thought I was the only one but this makes more sense. Thanks for the update. Will test a new brand (Pharma Nord) then coming days. Hopefully with a much faster delivery time. Delivery time is variable. My ...

I would have been screaming "Help" and fighting against them in the airport. Surely that would hav attracted attention. "Do not go gently into that good night."

Re: Hua Hin police to get tough on motorbike helmets

If you think it's bad now wait until more big bikes are on the road. I see that Honda, Kawasaki and Ducati have show rooms between Hua Hin and Cha Am.
