Re: A lot of BIG Jellyfish at the moment

I was in HH last year at this time and there were LOTS of jellies. Is this typical? I'll be back in a month or so. Will they be gone?

I was there last October. Quiet, not that much rain; but LOTS of jellyfish :(

Re: Thai Baht vs. USD Dropping Like a Rock

First time it has gone that way in quite a while. Last year it was 32.1 US$, now 35.1. We are coming over in November as well as others we know. So do you transfer $ now or bring cash with you? Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: The new Venezia Shopping complex

Went there when I was in HH a couple of weeks ago. Incredibly tacky, especially the "canal" and "gondola". Who thought up that concept?

Stayed at Jing's for 5 days a couple of weeks ago. A great little place for 750 bhat/night. All I need. :D

Re: Prachuab officials to reorganize Hua Hin beach

I'm headed over to Thailand next week and will spend a week in HH. I've been there before, but need a current status report. Lots of drama, so here are my questions: 1. Can I still get a beach lounge, a beer, and food? 2. Do the horses still crap on the beach? 3. What time do the bars close at night...

Re: Trip Report - Flying With Jet Airways

transiting through Delhi was no problem. did it twice this month. separate screening for men and women. remember to get tag for carry one. Decent little transit hotel if you have a long layover.

Re: Trip Report - Flying With Jet Airways

I just went from Hyderabad to Delhi to BKK. No problems transiting through Delhi, but it is a time of day thing and wasn't crowded.

Oh come on folks!!

I'm in the Bay Area. It is 55-degrees and raining. I go to the local bar and it costs $3.50 (100+ bhat) a pint and there is little eye candy and what there is has sweat pants and sweaters on. I'd gladly pay 70 or even 80 bhat for a beer

As an old RMT high person myself, who still has property there, I can only make the comment that it dropped 25 degress in 30 minutes in Denver this morning -- if one believes the news; but it sure sucks in NoCal right now -- time to back my bags !!

Sure there is. Go to the fishing pier. Just north of it is a concrete canal that discharges black gunk to the ocean. Follow this back into town and you will find the wastewater treatment plant. As a sanitary engineer, I'm probably the only one that puts this on my list of tourist attractions. I went...

My wife is from Khorat. I've spent a fair amount of time in pickup trucks with her famiily diving through Issan. I liked everything along the Mekong from Nong Khai down to Mukdahan and then over to Phimai on our return to BKK.

http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/wp200923_sat.html#a_topad Looks lie Mirinae really broke up when it hit land and the remnants are moving further north than predicted. Click on the animate tab to watch. Grey and windy in BKK, but no rain yet (we are NW of the downtown area). I guess it...

I was in Guam when this tropical depression formed and passed north of Guam. I got stranded at the Manila airport for 24 hours when it arrived as Typhoon Mirinae Friday night. It was more wind than rain. I'm in Bangkok now and think I'll stay here rather than let it get a 3rd shot at me. Does anyone...
