Re: Instant Messaging

I've never tried any of them, I just use Skype and call people on their phones anywhere in the world. Obviously you have to put credit on for that but it's so cheap, it's not worth worrying about.

It's a free chat/video/call system similar to Messenger (facebook), Whatsapp and Skype plus a few others.
When I contacted Argos in the UK via their website, I was connected to them using Messenger.
Seems it's the way to go these days.
Cheers, I've never tried it.

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

Thailand has virtually given up on traditional methods of online business such as websites and email - it is all done on farcebook and Line indicating to me at least that they are only interested in domestic trade. You can even book hotels using Line now ... well Thais can anyway. I'm showing my ig...

I have an account with Bangkok Bank and all theirs are actually outside where you get the bus or taxi.
Interesting (I also use BB)......
Just as you go out the door for the bus to Hua Hin, there's a Bangkok Bank ATM to your right facing towards the road.

Certainly the ATMs from the main banks are hard to find, I have an account with Bangkok Bank and all theirs are actually outside where you get the bus or taxi.

Although I despise the commercialization of Christmas, I do love to see pretty decorations, and those are impressive. Twinkling lights just put me in a good mood (even though I can be bah humbuggy about Xmas).

Humbuggy is now my favorite word in the English language so thank you for that VS!

....there are plenty of software and hardware wallets available for extra security. Re: Bitcoin mining and cryptocurrency thread

Considering the unregulated nature of Bitcoin and some of the countries where the infrastructure of trading is being run from, I'm left with a suspicion that events like the "loss" of $64million of Bitcoin in Slovenia the other day could be insider jobs. https://in.reuters.com/article/cyber-nicehash...

Re: Death of a Pet

Yes, sorry to hear that Pete, the last Thai mutt that we lost was one my partner had in Issan and he was getting so old that it was inevitable but it must have come as a bit of a shock to lose one at that age.

Re: Arrival to carousel time at BKK airport?

Do I buy seats on both and abandon one? Normally I'm not that critical on time so I just allow an hour or two but I'm arriving on the 25th December this time so am planning buying tickets on two bus services to make sure I don't get to town too late. I don't check in baggage so I can normally make ...

Re: Help identifying this pool filter

In French, it is a filtre lesteur.
I've just asked a couple of native French speakers and they suggested it could be "lecteur" which would mean it might be a filter differential pressure detector.
