Some of these 'party houses' are very loud. A coach turns up and it goes on all night.
Yes, 48 hours of nonstop music that you can hear over a kilometre away!

Haha, I thought that was a classic car
It was BB, basically a restored 1967 model that had been re-engineered by Jaguar.

I like the way that on that Tapper Lager above, they've put "since 2016" in Roman numerals to make it look older!

Thanks Steve I found the place, they only had one model left so I took it, 1700 baht. I could not wait to get one via Lazada.
I'm glad you found it, I'm not in Thailand at the moment and I couldn't remember exactly where it was except that it was near Cockpit.

Re: Where to buy a car battery charger

There's a shop on Petchakasem road near the Cockpit tyre place that sells just car batteries and chargers, they have a Bosch sign outside.

Re: Govt crackdown on Airbnb, declares bookings illegal

Whilst only condos have been mentioned so far, I wonder if this also applies to houses. If it does apply to houses, this could be the way to close down party houses, which would be a good result. Well, where I live, the developments rules understandably comply with the law of the land, so short ter...

Re: Govt crackdown on Airbnb, declares bookings illegal

Now this airbnb thing.... we hope (had hoped) this year to start spending 4 months every winter in Hua Hin, in an airbnb, with side trips to Bangkok or Phuket or wherever, also staying in airbnb properties. Renting a property for four months isn't a problem, you don't need airbnb for that, it's ren...

Re: Electric Cars

It is countries like China, Qatar and UAE that will drive change, not western countries which have so many steps to follow and hoops to jump through to get anything done. The mentioned countries leaders simply tell the government to do it and it is done. Yes, American scientists worked out that we ...

Re: Electric Cars

In 1907, a company was running a fleet of battery powered electric busses in London, they had a lead-acid battery that weighed over a ton and they could change them in a few minutes using a ramp at a garage in Victoria.

Re: Govt crackdown on Airbnb, declares bookings illegal

Amsterdam has just announced a similar ban in the city centre to protect the quality of life of residents. For me, it's a good idea as these "party house" rentals are springing up all over place near where I live.

Yes, I have a very vague memory of those trolley busses in Nottingham when I was very young in the early 60's.

Re: Electric Cars

What about pick up trucks which are used for hauling loads, and 4WD SUV's that are used off road. Do current electric engines have enough torque for these jobs, and does any major manufacturer have this type of electric vehicle in the planning? I guess the same question could be asked concerning pa...

Re: Bangkok Post editor removed from role

As the "illegal government takeover" as you phrase it, had the backing of the majority of Thai people, do you think that us guests here should be so critical?
If it had the backing of the majority of the people, why the need for the draconian article 44 to stifle dissent?
