Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi

When I went rubbernecking a couple of days ago, it was already quite an attraction at the temple with film crews and locals waiting for the daily visit by the sharks. As for the water off the temple wall, it's probably the clearest I've seen in this area. Not as good as the South of Thailand, but f...

Re: New pedestrian overpass for Market Village

If you use the next bridge, the one by the entrance to the Catholic school, don't pay too much attention to the riser height of the steps as you'll then knock your head on a concrete beam!

Is the water throwing still going on today? It was fun yesterday but I want to go out and stay dry!

Re: Things you had better get used to living in Thailand

Now that I spend a third of the year here, I seem to have become more tolerant to it, I used to have to use air conditioning to sleep but I've been here for a few weeks now and haven't used it once.

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

I remember in previous years there was some discussion about how the figures were calculated. I believe only those dying at the scene of the accident were counted, not those that died of their injuries later, so the figure is many times higher. Many obviously get killed in the mayhem of traveling h...

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

And the current headline in the Bangkok Post,,,,,,,,,,, "39 DIE ON DAY ONE",,,,,,,,,,,,,,its similar i guess to winning medals in the current Commonwealth Games,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,absolutely SAD. Incredible as it may seem, 39 in a day is actually below average as over 20,000 die on Thai roads every year!

Re: Alcohol ban on Hua Hin and Thai beaches?

I was walking the beach a couple of hours ago and I see at least one of these signs has been put up again, in front of the Hilton next to where the beach restaurants would be if it wasn't a Wednesday.

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

I have reminded myself why I drive as little as possible and prefer to use only two wheels on the roads here in lunaticland. Aren't something like 75% of fatalities on motorcycles? The reason so many people die on the roads in Thailand seems to me to be a simple combination of high motorcycle use a...

Yuk - Cold, wet and windy
Surprisingly, the forecast for today has turned out to be accurate, with the winds expected to pick up strength over the next few hours so could be set for a miserable day.
Yes, it's been lashing it down for a couple of hours now out in Nong Khon.

If you're on a budget, those two food courts by Big C offer a reasonable night out, plenty of food choices, live music and a large Leo for 65bt.

The last early closing was after the murder of a Thai on soi 41 late at night so perhaps this is a reaction to the two women that were stabbed on Monday night.

It occurs to me that anyone with a 56 inch plus waist must weigh so much that if they're on an economy ticket, they're paying less than the freight rate per kilo for a flight to Bangkok! well,if you read the link it's about buisness class    I was making the assumption that pe...
