Re: The Digital Surgery

Thanks, buksida!!! The issue of the dead repos or streams is not my main concern. The problem is that I have a list a mile long or errors that have been logged as to why they have not installed properly and some of them are barely a week old. I see all these people shouting out how brilliant a chann...

Re: Recording TV Streams

I find the whole thing really confusing. Since coming to Thailand it is something that has annoyed the hell out of me. Thais do not seem to record anything - even for posterity - whereas it was an everyday thing in the UK. People go out for meals and other events and set the DVD Recorder to record C...

Re: Recording TV Streams

Following on from my above post. I had a conversation recently with a computer expert who told me that HDMI cables have something called an HDCP (High Bandwidth Content Protection) in them that stop people using them to copy stuff. So can you get HDMI leads that do not have this HDCP? I also tried t...

Re: Recording TV Streams

You refer to this device as a tuner - but is an HD PVR a tuner or is it a Personal Video Recorder or are they the same thing? However, I have watched a few Youtube Videos recently on this subject and at no time did the bloke insert a satellite cable into the PVR-2 and instead used 2 HDMI cables and ...

Kodi 17.6

I am running Kodi 17.6 on two computers and I am having different problems on each one. Until now I choose to do manual installs myself from recommendations from ''experts'' via Google and add repositories and add ons for the ones I think are going to be of use. I had a period of about 6 months wher...

Re: Hua Hin City Youth Academy.

Yeah, how could I possibly forget that bit of trickery. It was magical wasn't it. I just hope that the coaches encourage them to try things like that. I cannot wait for them to play that team at the bottom of the league. It could be a goalfest!!

Re: Has Hua Hin Traffic Reached Saturation Point?

The town planners who designed the road systems around Hua Hin especially Petchkasem Road from Soi 55 to Soi 112 need to be checked medically for insanity. At the bottom of Soi 112 they put a roundabout, which the Thais are completely bamboozled with as they have never seen one before and is not inc...

Re: Hua Hin City Youth Academy.

When I mentioned to Big Boy about setting up a section for the Academy teams, I felt that they deserve their own section. Mentioning these young men in the same breath as the First Team just did not seem right. The U13 team have been outstanding in recent weeks against teams far bigger physically th...

Re: The demise of Hua Hin's computer shops

Re: my earlier post about Job at K.A.N. Computers on the 3rd floor of the Hua Hin Shopping Mall. As of 20 minutes ago (11.30AM on 3rd October 2016), he still has the shop and is still trading and will be for the forseeable future. The shops there open at about 9.30am until 8.30pm. If you visit there...

Re: RIP Steve Coulman

Thanks to Big Boy for letting me know the sad news of the passing of Steve Coulman. I met Steve on quite a few occasions on bike runs and also at the local football club - Hua Hin City FC. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. RIP Big Man.

Re: Recording Internet Tv on Computer

I asked the question of recording to iLikeHDtv and not surprisingly they said that they have a device called a StreamBox that records ANY tv channel off iLike HDtv - but the android box, because that is exactly what it is, costs about $300 (per Google) but can be paid along with your monthly or year...

Re: Recording Internet Tv on Computer

I had a look on Google aswell and came across some Freeware but when reading through some of the links the words ''record from television'' does not appear and when television is mentioned it means ''selected tv shows'', so recording the Man United game tonight does not fall into this category. I am...

Thanks J.J.B for the info. My wife has a membership for Lazada. Can you tell me if this is the same thing and what are chances it will actually work and I will order one from them.

Re: Recording Internet Tv on Computer

Thanks for that hhinner. I am in regular contact with ilikeHDtv - technical questions rather than nuisance calls - and they advised me that catch-up was on their agenda but they were building up their clientele first before increasing the options available. Since then of course they have had to sour...

Re: The demise of Hua Hin's computer shops

As repairs and upgrades are concerned I use a guy called Job at K.A.N.Computers in the Hua Hin Shopping Mall on the 3rd floor. (089-0228446). He has a fair selection of parts and what he doesn't have I am sure he will be able to get. He made a computer for me when I first came to Hua Hin and I take ...
