Re: Cool Box needs repair

Should have mentioned if the unit is making no heat the problem is probably electrical but if it makes even a small amount of heat the problem is probably the refrigerant. And altho a refrigerant leak is not repairable an electric fault can possibly be corrected. Try rolling it and turning it upside...

Re: Cool Box needs repair

It is probably a thermal absorption unit which does not have a compressor, similar to the propane Dometic refrigerators found in travel trailers. They have 3 gases, ammonia, hydrogen, somtimes sodium chromate, or salt water. If not used for a long time the gases can settle into wrong sections of the...

Re: Land boundary markers

Of course its not an official survey. But a certified surveyor is a certified surveyor. But this was not a survey. All he did was find the actual officially marked corners for us, which we could have done ourselves if we wanted to be bothered to dig up the whole 5 rai. And we were grateful for him a...

Re: Land boundary markers

It is against the law to move or disturb the markers so if the land has been filled they will most likely be under the fill. But usually, if not lazy, whoever does the fill will drive in a piece of pipe to locate the covered markers. In Chumphon Provence wife bought a load of concrete posts then wen...

Re: Motor Bike Seat Recovered

Go north from railroad station, get across the rounabout, about 1/2 way up that street on left side there used to be a place, probably still there. Very reasonable. Bicycle seats too and anything similar

The "few valves in the cylinder head" get bent due to the pistons hitting them. Resulting in exactly what Nereus says = engine finished

Re: New Ford Ranger Raptor

http://www.dayco.com/timing-belt-in-oil-bio-system Dayco is a belt manufacturer, of course they will pitch their product. No timing belts for me. When it fails usually the engine is destroyed. Have never heard of a timing chain failing. But if a timing chain needs attention it will tell you, a belt...

Does it have a timing chain, or are they still staying with a belt?

Re: Hua Hin address map?

All this illustrates a very good reason to get a GPS, learn how to use it properly, and encourage people to give GPS coordinates instead of crazy undecipherable directions. Especially businesses when advertising their location. Many people already have it right in their pocket and in their car as mo...

The state of Soi 102

Recently did 90 day parole reporting at Bluport. Decided to return home via Soi 102. We used to use 102 regularly but have not traveled it for more than a year. What a shock..! After the pavement ends it has become hardly more than a narrow and very bumpy cow path. Atho unpaved, it used to be fairly...

Re: Weakspot in Thai house design, concrete flange above lower roof tiles

Get a narrow sheet of galvanized sheet metal, like used for roof flashing, to wrap around that power pole. They cannot climb past that. Tack it on if a wood pole or just cinch it on tightly with wire if its a concrete pole, but not so much wire to give them a foothold for easy climbing. If its a con...

Re: Weakspot in Thai house design, concrete flange above lower roof tiles

Also, they cannot walk upside down under a ceiling, like a gecko or insect, so would be difficult for them to get up past the eaves but they like to crawl thru pipes and tubes so can go up thru a downspout if your roof has gutters with downspouts that are not screened. Which is somtimes done to prev...

Re: Weakspot in Thai house design, concrete flange above lower roof tiles

Rats and mice can flatten their ribs and squeeze thru a very narrow opening. Easiest way might be to figure out how the rats are getting onto the roof. Are they climbing up those trees that are showing? If so, a narrow strip of sheet metal around the tree, like power companies put on their poles to ...

Re: Govt set to charge foreign drivers for using Thai roads

this is just another example of oneupmanship greed. wouldn’t it be nice if we could all raise our incomes so easily. road maintenance is supported by petrel tax that is paid at the pump. plus everyone visiting the country pays VAT on what they spend. then every Thai earning money from the visitors p...
