Re: Thais and noise - is it cultural? I don’t get it.

Not meaning to sound a twat, but we should also ask ourselves if 'Silence' is a cultural thing for us.

Thai people seem to happily accept that all things make sound, however, we insist that some things are loud, whilst others must be quiet or even silent.

Re: Where to buy Honda CB650F

Hi Buksi

For less than 300K, it looks a decent bike.

Its got twice of everything that the CB500 has, including horsepower!

I might have something red for sale if you can wait a few months, probably around 425k mark, if you are interested

Re: The bikers thread; trips, news, chat, all things motorcycle

Hi Dtaai-Maai Honda Waves are still the fastest machines in Bangkok! Those bikes can weave in and out of the tightest traffic mess. I've been away from biking for many years, and only had the time (and resource) to get back into it in the last few years. I have to say, that I am enjoying very much g...

Re: The bikers thread; trips, news, chat, all things motorcycle

Went to the Motorshow last weekend. Whilst not fully committed to a new bike, I kinda had something in mind. Particular wanted to the new Multistrada and the BMW S1000XR (I'm not a natural BMW fan). The BMW was truly awesome. BMW have done a wonderful job designing this bike really for the non-BMW r...

Re: Have You Ever Been Targeted and Stitched Up By The Polic

In 16 years I can recall 3 instances that were clearly not for any real traffic violation, or for any other reason than to extract additional personal income. Once, for driving without a passport (Yes, i know technically this is an offense). Once for passing through a red light on a road that did no...

Re: Buying a big bike, customer service?

Well, I'm not sure if this is relevant I have a Ducati Hyperstrada 821, which i took delivery on 27 December 2013. Its been well serviced, and well looked after, and has a number of useful, Ducati-approved modifications, including Termignoni Exhaust. Currently just over 10K kms I'm contemplating sel...

Re: Roadside restaurants, street food. Best of the best

Street food can be good but it's not what it used to be with much dodgy stuff being sold now. It a complete lottery as to whether it's OK or not and there is simply no guarantee of what you are getting (despite what they try to pass it off as) or what it's been cooked/fried in (oil is usually the c...
