Re: Easy fishing in Hua Hin

Also just returned from th beach. We normally access next to Chiva Som and walk south however the smell was still quite strong from the dead fish so we headed north instead. Likewise a lot of small dead fish just above the waterline with a few larger species and a couple of eels. Still a few people ...

Re: Gutter service

If you make the decision to use metal guttering such as stainless or gal and are looking for long term durability you may need to check with the supplier/installer that all materials/brackets/fasteners they are using in the assembly are galvanically compatable to avoid premature corrosion issues.

Re: Rough Cost of 6 x 6 m Storage Shed

I am chasing a smaller version around 2.5m x 2.5m for a garden shed, where are these sold? I would imagine it would be flat packed and you put it together You may remember in oz there was a company called Absco that manufactured flat pack sheds. I noticed something similar in the global catalogue w...

I wonder what happened to Naki. He just disappeared 7 days after starting this thread. I wonder if his worst fears came to fruition.

Re: Police corruption, drug tested in Hua Hin

The cops are just doing their job , if you are stopped and within the law and act in a respectful friendly way there will never be a problem , it's the same all over the world :) What a bunch of horse pucky - 555 Agree JJ :thumb: Fairly straightforward. Initial perceptions , If it looks like a duck...

Re: Hua Hin's Finest (police in Hua Hin)

To paraphrase Hunter S Thompson, what you need to do when stopped by cops is to speed up to 100, then do a 360 slamming on the brakes, fishtailing gravel and dirt, to the side of the road. That will impress them with your driving ability and avoid a ticket. I have not tried this You've gotta love h...

Not sure how the jet ski and horse jockeys will cope with this.

Re: Hua Hin's Finest (police in Hua Hin)

"You drive bad, where licence?" I said and pointed to the side of the road where I assume it was his boss standing, ''I will go over there so as not to block the road'', which I did. BIB that stopped me followed me and the same statement: "you drive bad". So what did I do? Looks at licence and come...

Re: Routine Eye Sight tests in Thailand

My wife and I recently went to have our eyes checked by the ophthalmologist at Hua Hin Eye and Dental clinic on Soi 74. She has been complaining for some time of headaches and we thought it may possibly have been her glasses. She spends about 8-10 hours a day on the computer for her work. She had tri...

Re: Police corruption, drug tested in Hua Hin

I don't disagree with the amount of stops in Hua Hin. There are a lot. However, they are usually in the same places, so you can take different routes. Last night, I had the choice of 2 u-turns or a possible roadblock. I chose the roadblock as the easiest alternative. In Hua Hin, I've never known th...

I travel that particular road quite frequently and have been stopped there on a number of occasions. similar scenario and questions also answered by my wife. "Where are you going?" "Home" "where have you been?" "Shopping" "Have you been drinking?" "No" "Ok, sorry for inconvenience." Sometimes a pat ...

Re: Long term tick and flea treatment for dogs.

Likewise if your dog is infected with heart worm there are further risks. Thanks for the info. The product is advertised as fighting against and a treatment for heart worm as well as mange! I think you will find that En-Dex (Ivermectin) is not a treatment for Heart worm but rather a preventative. H...
