Lev - it appears this thread has gone some way to lay to rest the notion that a farang can at reasonable risk buy a "freehold" by use of a minority shareholding in a Thai company.
Please do me a favour and make this a sticky.

Re: Leasing options
I posted this question on another thread and it was ignored because of the squabble going on in that thread. I'll try it here and I repost it for discussion. Would it be possible for prospective purchasers who are currently waiting for Land Registration or likely to be in the forseeable future, to ...

Property values rise or fall depending on the perceived risk of ownership. The level of risk a purchaser is prepared to take varies to reflects the purchasers personal situation. For example, if one is emigrating to a country, risk is a trade off between lifestyle and security of capital whereas if ...

I've had enough of this. Where are the mods? Well, it's a serious subject so I suppose we've let it run. However, I'm losing patience. It does no-one any good to see these battle of words on here. I raised a point a short while ago regarding the importance of this issue and the lack of involvement ...

Oh, and by the way Burger. Now you have declared you are a property developer you have admitted that you have a vested interest in this discussion. By so doing, you are claiming to be a professional involved in a trade and therefore in possession of special knowledge in comparison to a normal punter...

Burger - I really don't like saying this but you talk in an untruthful way. Why? What do you do for a living? Are you a politician or a property developer because you write in a way that clearly sets out to mislead people. You are cleaver and cunning - you could be either. I am writing to people who...

Tuktuk - you are so right about going round in circles. The official statement has been printed twice in this thread/board yet still people have a disconnect between eyeball and brain, or just don't understand english. The words are clear as has been the existing law. What does surprise me is that n...

Malcoms wife is, of course, correct in every case. From China through to Burma, western people are seen as having screwed eastern societies for centuries. Farangs are not wanted, unless it is to the indigenous populations advantage. Is that not the case in EVERY country one is aware of? Politicians ...
