Re: Retirement visas for British married couple
Good evening all. Well, we didn't make it out last year as planned, herself had back surgery that didn't turn out as we hoped. We are however , off to the Embassy in London on Tues 7th and hope to have visas (O.A) the following day and be out in a fortnight or so. Pretty much sure that we have all n...

Re: Diabetes control.
Can anyone please advise of the cost locally in HH of both long and short acting insulin in HH? Been trying hard with oral meds to get off the stuff yet seems its not to be, need to know how much of my pension insulin will eat up every month. Thanks.

Re: Diabetes control.
Just re-read what I wrote in response to the last posts. Hmmm. I replied on my iPhone, late at night and without the benefit of my reading glasses... Should have read 'the Insulin isn't doing what it should' instead of 'doom'. Every so often a complete idiot taps on a keypad, this is he! Apologies f...

Re: Diabetes control.
Better. Thanks. Would seem I have some added joy here. The insulin isn't doom what it should now. Never rains but... Very good to know that there's a different insulin option. All I've been told by my local specialist diabetic nurses of late is to increase the dose! Sponsored by Sanofi, the manufact...

Re: Diabetes control.
Ah, actually I'm coming from Ireland and I have 3 monthly repeats and can get 3 months supply to bring with me but I don't know of anyone that makes a cold travel pack that big! But 3 months supply won't help too much. I have to see can I get back on my oral meds and with regular excercise ( which I...

Re: Diabetes control.
How's things Big Boy. The problem extends to the fact that Insulin has to be kept refrigerated and a relatively short shelf life. Not a user friendly med at all so bringing a long term supply isn't an option. Have been on the usual oral meds for the last 10 years and they can be had for pennies but ...

Re: Diabetes control.
Jeepers that's expensive. Some serious thinking to do here, I'm doing a pen and a bit of lantus and one and a half of apidra per week.
Thanks all...

Re: Diabetes control.
A new slant on an old post. Due out next month for some full time living and there's been a change in my Diabetes status. I'm still a type 2 and my pancreas is churning out the insulin but it's not getting to where it needs to be and as a consequence I'm back on the Insulin pens, both Apidra and Lan...

Re: Where to get Tramadol
Jeepers Homer, just bothered to read the laws regarding Codeine importation. Thanks a million man. 30 days supply only and that with a form issued by some ministry or other. Beggered if I know what do here as Herself does depend on this Solpadol stuff as the Sciatica is chronic at times.

Re: Where to get Tramadol
Be bringing 3 months supply Homer and that's an awful lot of script codeine. Have brought it in before without an issue but we do have covering letter from the GP here at home and copies of prescription, hopefully that should suffice if questioned.
Thanks for the information.

Re: Where to get Tramadol
Can anyone advise if Solpadol (500mg Paracetamol and 30mg Codeine ) is available? Not the weaker Solpadine version. Herself suffers with Sciatica frequently and Tramadol sends her off the head as does all the Lyricas and OxyContin etc etc. Thanks.

Re: Diabetes control.
Thanks for that oakdale but my pancreas is making gallons of insulin just not getting around the body! I was only on insulin for 5 weeks a couple of years ago while the blood was getting tested, I had a new Endocrinologist at the time and she's thorough to say the least. It would seem I'm worrying o...
