Re: The Beer Thread

Nitrogen also is used to give draught and canned beer a specific taste, mouthfeel and head rather than CO2, not just as a delivery system. "Breweries typically use carbon dioxide to give a beer its quintessential bitter fizz, but when a drink calls for a sweeter, silkier experience — such as the exp...

Re: Population of Hua Hin or anywhere for that matter.

I heard last week that Hua Hin is now designated a city. Anyone else heard that?

Just 80,000 souls and no cathedral....

Re: The Beer Thread

Guinness original (in a bottle) is my preferred Arthur's ale. not so smooth and creamy as the draught or widget can. I don't know if it's available in Thailand? I would have thought it would travel OK. That's the one I like. The one they call draft, in a can, is poor quality stuff and just another ...

Re: Lovely video potrait of Khao Takiab

A few of those clips were not Khao Takiab, and not a monkey to be seen. Mention Khao Takiab to a lot of people, and the first thing they think of is monkeys. Ah, I didn't notice the clips that weren't KT, only those that were. I assumed the others were parts I hadn't seen. I have never been to KT t...

Re: Best Hua Hin Steak 2017

I had great steak at West 94th Street, the rib/burger/mexican place where the Texan owner does the cooking. Call a few days before to order your preferred steak cut and size because he will buy it in (not all cuts are always available in HH, but what you get will be fresh). Take your own English mus...

Re: What Do You Feed Your Dog

She drinks a lot of water which I guess is a sign that the food doesn't give her enough moisture (obviously the climate plays a part too). Our rottweiler was like that. I took her to the vet querying diabetes, but it turned out to be 1st stage kidney failure. I'm not saying your dog has either, but...

Re: What Do You Feed Your Dog

I'm having an epiphany here. Our bitch is killing our grass: one pee, one dead spot. Reading up it probably is not wholly the nitrogen level of her urine that's the problem so much that the pH of the urine is too high. I'm going to go from dried biscuit mixed with a small amount of sachet food over ...

Re: TV series worth downloading

Crime/drama 6 parter 'The Loch' from ITV, good characters and lots of red herrings, and twists, filmed in a beautiful part of Scotland. There is one scene where a teenager openly carries a rifle on a school trip though, bit bloody silly!
