Re: Ford Ranger Wildtrak canopy.

There is a carryboy place on Petkasem near the shell station, sorry can't give better directions, but there is a sign on the building. They had a wide selection of different types, not sure if they carry it but worth a try. My wife bargained them down some when we bought our truck cap.

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

Being in Bang Saphan we have started using Lazada and have had good luck. Prices seem fine and they have items not available down here.

Also have started using Passion Delivery for food. Have found their items to be excellent quality as well as fantastic customer service.

Re: Why did you settle in Hua Hin?

Came to Hua Hin first around 2006 and liked it. Originally the plan was to move there when we retired. Retirement came in 2015 but with the growth in town settled in Bang Saphan instead.

Not exactly pertinent, but thought it may be of interest

Re: Moving in before paying for house - your thoughts?

Not sure about Thailand, but here in the states it's very hard to kick someone out of a house, even if the contract supports it. We bought a house once, the seller had rented it with the understanding the people would vacate upon sale. They were notified 45 days prior to the closing of the contract ...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues

No. If you are with your Thai wife then you go with her in the Thai queue. No problem. It's the same in the UK at the airport. If your Thai wife is with you then you both go through the UK passport holders queue. I think it's a pretty general rule. Yes we do it all the time. The first couple times ...

Re: Why do so many Thais look down on tourist / foreigners?

The first Mrs m was Korean. She had no problem with Japanese (or other ethnicities). Her Mother who was in Korea for WWII also held no grudges but told of the Japanese rewriting history, making Koreans change names, etc. She said many of her generation still hated, but younger generations were not a...

Re: Riding a motorcycle on an International Driving Permit

No help. but in the states the rental companies are happy to provide insurance as long as you have a valid license.

They would provide insurance to a drunk, blind, paraplegic if asked since they charge a lot of money for it, and it is the insurers problem, not the bike renters.
