Re: Best long-term "unlimited" internet SIM deals
After a lot of huffing and puffing on my part, I walked into AIS last year and renewed for about 3฿ than the previous year. I will obviously watch to see how you go, but I hope to renew again this year. I pay 373 baht per month at AIS for what seems to be the exact same service that Verizon was cha...

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
Good news to hear that Jalapeño’s is making another run at it. I enjoyed the food there on each of my visits. Speaking of Mexican…I finally tried a place that I had been hearing about lately. Casa de la Tex Mex. After much searching, I think that they only offer delivery from somewhere up in the Hin...

Tried and true. Once again, Volaré on soi 102 did not do me wrong. I love the chili-infused oil that they have on the tables.

Re: Pizza in Hua Hin
Had it again at Lakeside Bar. Phad grapow pork pizza with two eggs on top. I was going to take it home, but after a couple of beers, I decided to try a slice. The whole pizza was gone a short time later. It’s like crack! Probably my favorite pizza in Hua Hin right now. Perfect spicy complement to t...

I talked to his girlfriend two nights ago. All she said is that he is not doing well, and “he doesn’t know anything.” Pretty sad. Good guy.Harry Bosch wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 11:05 pm hello has anyone got any news on JW after his repatriation back to the north of Blighty?

Re: Has Lax Thai Policing Ever Helped You Out?
Not me, but my girlfriend. I was too drunk to drive, so I asked her to drive, because I thought she was less-drunk (she wasn't). Got stopped at a checkpoint and her PBT sample was highhhhhh. Cops sent my drunk ass off on my motorbike to a nearby ATM for a bribe while she remained at the scene. I ret...

Re: Things That Wind Me Up Driving In Thailand
While this topic has been revived I think the biggest annoyance, and probably the cause of a lot of the accidents that occur on highways, is slow-moving trucks and vehicles hogging the outside passing lane when other lanes are clear. Just done 2,500km in a trip around the north and this by far was ...

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
Well, that didn’t last long. Jalapeños is closing, per their post on FB this morning. Tomorrow is their last day in business. It’s a shame, because they had pretty damn good Mexican food. Owner cites lack of staff and inability to provide quality food that is expected, or something along those lines...

It was buzzed heaven! And I had beer goggles on, and beer goggles don’t work just for ogling the opposite sex. This burger looked fantastic to me.

Re: Fish & Chips
Hmm when I was going to college in California I lived on my boat. Being a poor college student we ate whatever we caught. Barracuda, like mackeral, we would cut out the bloodline and it tasted OK but we were unaware of ciguatera poisoning! That was maybe why in the movie The Deep Robert Shaw told N...
