Re: Possible leak from incoming water

Sorry mate, but it is both illegal and very bad practice to have a pump with the suction connected directly to the mains supply. The supply should ALWAYS be via some form of settling tank. You're probably right but I can show you many instances where the pump is suctioned directly to the main suppl...

Re: The Beer Thread

Here you go J.J.B. Probably an urban myth, but who knows? http://www.fermentarium.com/random-news/22-crazy-alcohol-myths-you-swore-were-true/ Budweiser contains formaldehyde We were so sure that this rumor was a myth, we added it to the list to research later.  This might come as a shock to you.  It...

Re: Possible leak from incoming water

Firstly close off the stopcock for the town water for two reasons, if there is a faulty non return valve to town water it will eliminate that prospect and secondly it will stop the town water pressure from overriding the low pressure switch for the pump. Sorry mate, but it is both illegal and very ...

Re: The Beer Thread

I do not drink beer, never have, but I am not a wowser and did drink spirits for many years. However, I have been told many times that formaldehyde is used as a preservative in some beers, and, depending on the concentration, is to blame for "hangovers". J.J.B. what do you say? https://www.choice.co...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

The Thai Website is up again. The line of low pressure cells extending all the way from India has moved south over Thailand. There is an active low pressure cell over the southern tip of Cambodia, which is probably what you are seeing Pete.

Heavy rain floods parts of Bangkok, more to come

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Phra Khanong was hardest hit by the downpour with 61.5 millimetres of rain, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration reported. Well, I think some body may have peed in the rain gauge! I am at Phrakhanong and we did get a heavy shower around 12-30, just as I arrived back home, but I doubt very much i...

Re: Melbourne woman drowns at Phuket beach after ignoring warning signs

Well picked up, yes, but what do Australians do if they can't see a Yellow flag?
Go and see Dr. Parirat maybe? :rasta:

Actually in the photo on the link that Bluesky posted there appears to be some English writing on the Thai flags.

Re: Melbourne woman drowns at Phuket beach after ignoring warning signs

Yes tragic. But what that link does not point out is the following: https://thewest.com.au/news/world/aussie-woman-barbara-fistrovic-dies-at-kamala-beach-in-phuket-thailand-ng-b88603560z Red flags on the beach in Thailand indicate it is not safe to swim, unlike in Australia where swimmers are asked ...
