Re: This day in Aviation
This guy had an angel sitting on his shoulder! https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/c900npw99j2o (Video) Yes, watched it yesterday. Not sure about any angels, more like a very skilled and cool pilot! The aircraft was probably right on the point of stalling; just slight more back pressure on the ...

Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi
Read somewhere that these events would become more frequent with climate change affecting conditions and airflow at elevation. There are several articles posted around: https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20240524-severe-turbulence-climate-change-singapore-airlines https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-0...

Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi
I miss the old jumbos, where you could have a really good walk around the plane, and you would always find a couple of like minded souls standing by the service areas, having a beer, outside of feeding times, of course. Oh yes, many a party attended, even won a heart on one memorable occasion! And ...

Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi
I suppose that is a reflection on my pilot training, but my seat belt remains loosely fastened while I am seated. I even have qualms about a short visit to the toilet! It seems that a lot of passengers have no idea about what may happen at anytime. And then there are the complete idiots that unbuckl...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
Its going to take decades to bring this charging infrastructure up to meet demand in Thailand if everyone goes out and buys an EV. Absolutely! Do not even need 50% EVs on the road! It has nothing to do with the countries (EGAT) generating capacity, or the reserve capacity, the existing distrubution...

I no longer have anything to do with the place, but I believe that the width was the problem, which has also been retified. There was also some talk about the apron strength, which may not have been upgraded.

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading
I think this season of Clarkson's Farm is the best so far. He's really a farmer now, albeit not a great one. I really feel his heart is in it. I'm happy he makes money from TV because all small-scale farming is fraught with disaster. :) I can remember years ago when it was a case of “there’s no suc...
