Re: Chiang Mai Listed Where Couple Can Retire for US$1,500/month
^^ I did pretty much the same thing right there in Hua Hin and did it for years. I did not have the same house your friend had but all else much the same. Played pool in the various leagues 4+ times a week, drank beer as I felt, took my pleasures in the same way. I ate mostly Thai food because I lik...

Re: Western food supplies in Cha-am
Is the order of "veal and ham" or "ham and veal" important? Most curious . . .

Re: Minibus/van to Bangkok
Aye, I quit the mini vans when the airport bus proved to be reliable and cheap. Overall might take a bit longer once you transit into BKK city but 1000 times safer.

Re: Sinking Ferry - Koh Tao
My worst ever travel experience was on a December day more than 10 years ago when I took that high speed ferry over to Koh Tao. I kinda knew it was going to be bad when they were handing out vomit bags prior to departure. Very high wind and waves. We barely got past the breakers and the waves, more ...

^^ Ohhhh . . . Sorry Boss.
Because I love'em I buy this item regularly I usually patronize Big Kiang up Cha-Am way or there is a place on the other side of Cha-Am heading north on the left near Tha Yang. Big selection there.
How many more choices might you like to have?

Re: Watchmaker
As a former clockmaker (and NOT a watchmaker) I had to look up what "rattrapante" was. I had never heard of it which I thought was a little strange as my father was a watchmaker of 40+ years but I had never heard him use that word. In looking it up I found that the rattrapante chronograph ...
