Re: New demands from Hua Hin immigration for marriage extension

Yes, I have a retirement visa and have found HH immigration efficient in extending, 90 day report, residency certificate, re-entry etc. My daughter who was on an ED visa also praised them for their efficiency when she had to extend every 90 days to the point of helping her with missing documents on ...

Re: New demands from Hua Hin immigration for marriage extension

I still believe HH Immigration is one of the more corrupt ones in Thailand.
I really can't agree with that. I would suggest quite the opposite.

Re: New demands from Hua Hin immigration for marriage extension

I don't think this is cooked up by HH immigration. As far as I know, visa and extensions based upon marriage are ultimately controlled by Bangkok. So I guess HH immigration are just doing as they've been told.
I may be wrong.

My daughter also used Sirada for her 1 year 'sabbatical' using an ED visa. She had nothing but praise for them.

Re: Thailand 7-Elevens to offer banking services

Assigning 7-Elevens as banking agents will reduce the need to maintain branches or transport money to remote locations such as small islands, but he questioned the wisdom of adding a service that is already met by the ATMs outside nearly every 7-Eleven store.
Exactly.

Re: Subway Hua Hin

It's a long long time since I used to visit that complex on a regular basis. I used to go there 2 or 3 times a week. The BBQ upstairs was always busy. Subway nearly always had a small queue. Even the coffee shop and other shops above McD got their fair share of customers. What happened?

I don't think they had much business. Not really a good concept for Thailand.
Well they survived in Hua Hin for many years. More than ten years I'm sure.

Where do these executives learn their maths skills?
Thailand's overall coffee market amounts to 18 billion baht a year.

Of the total, some 14 billion bahtt is captured by 3-in-1 coffee, 4 billion baht by instant coffee and 12 billion baht by ready-to-drink coffee.

I've always had the same experience as you, Takiap. Never 'dressed up' and only needed my passport which of course shows my visa.

Re: Opening a Thai bank account

I used to use Bangkok Bank in London. Unless it's changed, you couldn't open a personal account there and it could only be used as a gate to your Bangkok Bank in Thailand. I used to have a pension paid into London and it was automatically transferred to my bank in Thailand. I've not needed that faci...

Re: Human fetuses found among household garbage in Hua Hin

HHtel, I am pretty sure nowadays they use the word "viable" from about 26 weeks gestation (might even be earlier). No argument. Just pointing out the law allows termination up to 28 weeks. The article HHTel posted about the 17 yr old girl arrested for the same "crime", she took an abortion pill. Th...

Re: Human fetuses found among household garbage in Hua Hin

The law says that a pregnancy can be terminated up to 28 weeks. I'm sure I've read stories of babies being born before this and survived.

Re: Human fetuses found among household garbage in Hua Hin

Absolutely agree MDMK. I'm sure these late abortions (and from the report there was one at 8 months) are the result of 'desperation' and 'not knowing where to turn'. If the subject was discussed openly in Thai society and the government, and the options were made known publicly, then this kind of th...

We have 8 ceiling fans. The label on them is 'abc'. Bought and fitted by Big Kiang in 2005 and still going strong.
