Agreed, BB.
As an aside, I love that poster/sign from Cha-Am that ginja showed. Got to be a winner!

Re: What are the TV service options in Hua Hin.
There is also FirstOneTv.net which has dozens of channels from all over the world including 50 or 60 from the UK. Free. No vpn needed. Only live tv so no catch-up.

Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi
A sign saying to stay within 20 meters probably does refer to start of coral line from the mean tide level, as there is a far higher risk from coral and barnacle’s than If the sign said that there'd be no confusion but the sign actually states:- 'Do not swim far over 20 meters' So -don't swim too f...

Re: Do we know which snakes are venomous?
I agree, Dannie Boy. Most westerners know that not all snakes are poisonous. Why Jamjar thinks differently is anyone's guess. However, many Thais believe that all snakes are poisonous which is not a bad philosophy when keeping yourself and others safe. I know as most others do that snakes are not da...

Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi
I've now seen the warning signs on social media. They simply say, "Don't swim for over 20 Metres." No indication of direction or why there is a restriction. TIT It always amazes me that with all the English speaking foreigners here, a Thai will not ask for assistance when putting up posters. Loss o...

I don't think there'll be any shortage of takers. My wife and daughter just read it and immediately shouted in unison.... "I'll do it!!"

Re: Massive exodus from Bangkok - 7 deadly days of Songkran begin
In 2011 the then-government announced the following ten years as Thailand's 'Decade of Action on Road Safety'. It declared 2012 as the year of 100 percent helmet use on motorbikes. In 2015 the Department of Disaster Prevention, which is tasked with road safety in addition to problems like floods an...

Re: Which car would you feel safest in Thailand
The new SUVs may be based on the pick-up chassis, but on my Pajero Sport (the newest type) there are no plate/flat springs! It is regular shock absorbers inside coiled springs. And I have been on long drives from Hua Hin up north and south and imho it is very nice to drive indeed. Even better after...

Road deaths up by 13.2% over the same five days in 2017. Beats me how they calculate their percentages.
Not quite the 7% reduction that was aimed for!

226 killed in 2017
248 killed in 2018
I make that a difference of 9.28% so where does this 0.4% come from? Another criticism of Thai education.

In many cases the courier will pay the duty and will release the goods to you or your delivery address once you have reimbursed them (the courier). Don't know the 'Pack and Send' policy on this.

Re: Niece in UK wants to be expat - finding work in Thailand
I looked up 'teaching in Saudi' after the comment from DM regarding making money. I was amazed to see salaries ranging from 37,000 pounds to 48,000 pounds tax free. I wish I was young enough to take advantage. A few years out of your life can accumulate quite a nest egg.
