Thailand is cooling down. !!!
Well in Udon Thani it hit 106f on Tuesday and 110f on Wednesday. :D
Incidentally Laos is reporting no Covid cases for 22 days (Vientiane Times)

Re: Premier League 2019-2020

Fake news.... The Spuds have said they will not sell to a domestic rival (BBC News)
But if this shutdown goes on till, say, the end of the year is it likely transfer fees will be much reduced with a lot of clubs struggling financially. ??

Re: China Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia are year round hot countries and the virus has never really exploded in these places as yet. On the other hand China, Korea, Japan, Iran, Europe, UK and parts of the USA are cold from January to March. The virus is here in Thailand for sure but just may be the heat i...

Re: Wuhan Virus Precautions

They are saying that the virus can be transmitted through the eyes making masks pretty useless. A top Chinese surgeon who took part in the fight against SARS in 2003 contracted the Coronavirus despite wearing high quality surgical masks. He got an eye infection and it was during tests for this it wa...

Re: The Rugby Thread

I see that the English and European champions,Saracens, are to be relegated from the Premiership at the end of the season due to financial irregularities.
A bit of a surprise that.....

Re: Vietnam compared to Thailand for living

We have Thai neighbours who have been to Vietnam 3 times in the last 18 months.
They went to HCMC,Hue and Da Nang I think ?
They said it was very cheap over there compared to Thailand....accomodation,food,beer etc.

Re: Vietnam compared to Thailand for living

Yes but I think from 1st July you will only be able to get the 30 day single entry visa which you can keep renewing every month.
The 90 day visa will cease....

Re: Vietnam compared to Thailand for living

Sadly it looks like Vietnam will only be issuing 30 day visas from July 1st....no multi entry or retirement visas. Its the same as Laos.No problem renewing a monthly visa but your passport is screwed after 2 years. Malaysia....Brits and some other nationalities get 90 days which can be extended at I...

Re: Premier League 2019-2020

Forgive me for smiling as a Man Utd fan... True Poch has looked tired recently but this guy got you into the Champions League Final last season and always gets you in the top 4 in the EPL. The Spuds have been poor this season but surely the guy deserves till the end of the season to put it right. An...

Re: Premier League 2019-2020

Newcastle are amongst the relegation favourites so what does that say about United.
Spuds, United and Everton for the drop :D

Re: Premier League 2019-2020

I,m sure Harold's fiercest critic, BB, would still rate him slightly higher than Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford ! :D Of the current crop of Premiership strikers he,s nowhere near as good as Aguero, Salah or Mane imo. I,d rank him about the same as Aubemyang although the Arsenal man has a bit of p...

Re: Premier League 2019-2020

The Spuds were just as poor in the first half. Not just the Hurrikane but all of them. I can't think of one who had a decent game... Eriksen bloody awful, obviously wants out. Alderweireld and Vertonghen looking old and slow. I know Lloris has a bad arm injury but wtf was he doing ? Most worrying of...

Re: Premier League 2019-2020

The Spuds are absolute taters at the moment... so bad they are taking the heat off Man Utd.
Poch has had a good 5 years here but time to go. The squad needs refreshing... not entirely his fault.
So Allegri to Tottenham... certainly not Mourinho.
Poch to Man Utd with Solksjaer DOF??

Re: Road trip to Phetchabun and Loei

You can use Loei as a base for visiting Chiang Khan and Phu Ruea... both about 50kms away. Loei Palace hotel, near the centre, is half decent and has a swimming pool. Some of the little restaurants near the river sell cheap beer... large Chang 70 baht last year, from memory. Phetchabun...yes, stayed...

Re: New retirement visa rule - show 800k every 3 months

If you're receiving 40,000 a month you must prove that it came from outside of Thailand and it's from a verifiable source, i.e. a pension find or social security. Did they say in what form that proof had to be presented? Sorry to be months late with a response to this :D If you have a Thai Bank boo...
