Sorry if I posted this before. www.windy.com is an interesting resource if you like to tinker around with weather data. It offers a great deal of information and different ways to view it. Pete

LINE Mobile

Seems to be a new player on the block competing with AIS, DTAC and True. I didn't realize LINE had fully entered that market. I know no more than that but if anyone uses them as primary mobile provider please let us know your experience. Pete

Re: Pros and Cons of Colonization

My personal feeling is that Colonization will bring with it organization and a rules based society, generation after generation. That never happened here and therefore the differences you saw concerning rules of the road and driving behaviour. I would imagine the driving in Burma is much better than...

Pros and Cons of Colonization

I'm quoting part of your post here HHTel as not to go off topic on your trip report thread: ............I haven't been into Malaysia for some years and I'd forgotten how different the driving is there. It's very obvious immediately you cross the border. - The outside lane completely free and only us...

Re: Tips for recycling and reducing plastic use in Thailand

Think about implementing what I call "freezer garbage" for wet animal/vegetable waste. I started doing it in Hawaii as in the rural parts of the Big Island there is no trash pick up of any type and people have to load things into their cars and take to the nearest Gov run facility ( 20' hopper truck...

Re: The Beer Thread

I'd have to do a more scientific test than I've done so far. I'm an Asahi fan as it's the best tasting beer I can get where I am that is usually under a 1 month bottle date. However, this applies to their cans only so I like the cans best. Where I am there are hordes of Japanese and Korean engineer ...

Re: The Beer Thread

It's normal for shops to move their older stock to the front of the shelves or cooler. I avoid any beer older than 3 months from bottling date. Absolutely ( to me) older than that has a very stale taste but it's never been so bad as to make me ill. Bouncing truck transport and heat here play hell wi...
