What is your Passion in Life?

This in a way is a follow on to Vital Spark's thread "Pivotal moments in life" . What is it that you would really love to be doing that you're not. Everyone has that little niggle in the back of their head, probably since childhood, that you would like to be doing something but for one reason or ano...

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food

MSG. It is in many Japanese dishes. It can keep you awake, cause headaches and diarrhea. That stuff is everywhere over here. They shovel it in by the spoonful in Thai weetiel (sp) soup and dry, and most all Thai food. The same in HK, China, Singapore etc. If MSG is my problem then everything has to...

Re: Snakes in the house and garden

They, unlike many snakes, do not run away therefore it's easy to walk up on one which is not good. We had one last year that the dog found. Relocated him easily. I've read where they are small, but deadly. Thankfully they haven't found a way through Bangkok yet and into the East. Our problem over h...

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food

Now that is interesting and worthy of more research. At least I am not alone it appears. Pete  .......To get back on topic, I had Japanese lunch for last 2 days, and both nights I had sleeping difficulties and mild fever. Previously, I’ve had mild fever after eating Tuna. My perception is th...

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food

Try having lunch as your main meal and only a snack for dinner. Never go to bed with a full stomach. It's good for not only sleeping but controlling weight. Yes, thanks. It's good advice and has been for a long time. The question is who can actually do it. Afternoon is very busy for me around the h...

Re: Birds of Thailand

We seem to have plenty of the type that make loud calls in the middle of the night. Also a lot of 3am chickens, do they count?? I think you're in a relatively remote area with not much development, and no industry to speak of. Enjoy it while you can! :D My biggest problem is not pollution and indus...

WOW, what a game between Australia and Ireland. :D Perhaps people watching on replay so won't say anything, except that this match-up IMO is the best of the tournament so far.   Pete

Re: Birds of Thailand

I haven't visited this thread in a long time. Reason is probably that we see few birds anymore. Perhaps they are also eating plastic? :( Honestly, all bird species that used to be here along the Rayong coast when we moved into our house in late 2006, aren't here any longer. The egrets migrate in duri...
