Re: Good service at B-Quick.

You were lucky. I had a puncture last week, a screw at least 1.5 inches long. Cost in UK £15.

Re: Our Car Memories

My first car was a 1954 Mk1 Consul in 1964 for £80 then a mini and next was a Mk1 Jag 2.4. This was my first automatic and also the first car with a fitted radio. Next up was a Wolsey Hornet which was a “de luxe” Mini. Then came, in no particular order Mk4 Cortina, Zephyr, Triumph 2000, Scorpio then...

Re: Why stay if Hua Hin and/or Thailand is that bad?

As someone who left 3 years ago I feel wherever you live you you will complain. I left as I thought Thailand was becoming harder to live as a foreigner. I sold up, made a profit and intended to holiday here in future. Due to current situation that hasn’t been possible but hopefully next year things ...

Re: Property Management Boss with Chequered Past

This company has been running for over 14 years. He has been the owner for over a year. The company is probably the most reliable in town. I used them when I had a house here and although we had small problems with them I would still recommend them. I am unable to open the link so haven't read the a...

Re: Lumber merchant

There is a lumber merchant on Phetchkasem Rd in Khao Tao. It is on a bend on the left hand side with a slatted fence around it on the way to Pranburi. I used it last year and they cut to size and also plane to a smooth finish.

Re: Wood suppliers in Hua Hin

There is a wood yard in Khao Tao on the road to Pranburi. It is on left hand side going to Pranburi from Hua Hin. Quite difficult to find as it is behind a wall and looks like an entrance to a house.

Re: Do you need an onward ticket for entry into Thailand?

You can get a visa by post from London, the only problem is it must be cash. They don't accept cheques. Must have sae for return of passports. Costs an extra £10. I got this info by phone from the embassy. In the end I went to the embassy as I had to go to London anyway. Suggest phone Embassy to con...

Re: AIS SIM card and phone being stopped.

Have now changed to new supplier DTAC who seem to be fine. Had to change number though as AIS couldn't tell me how long it would take to complete the change and I didn't want to keep going back in to check. DTAC also put my contact list onto new SIM card.

AIS SIM card and phone being stopped.

Anyone else having problems over this? Have been told by AIS staff in MV that my phone will no longer work from Tuesday. My phone only supports 2G and AIS are switching to 3G. I have been told to go to another provider who will keep my number and allow me to use my phone. If My SIM card was over 4 m...

SIM card with a years validity.

As you have to register SIM cards now, to save me registering every year are there any SIM cards that last for a year. Previous cards I have used only last for a couple of months. Is there any minimum amount you have to buy to get the year.

In UK the Post Office are the only people who can open mail. When customs inspect mail it is the P.O. Who open the mail and reveal it when customs are done.

Re: INR blood test in Hua Hin

The clinic on Petchkasem Rd opposite a yellow sign with "W" on it will do it for you. You may have to make an appointment although ours was done after a short wait. They are only open in the evenings from 1700hrs. Results given next day. I think most doctor's clinics will do it and send th...

An excellent idea by BB. It is hard enough in your own country to sort these things out, in another country with different language and laws an absolute nightmare. It is a pity the topic has attracted so many negative comments.

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

Am arriving in September, will I need to book or are there seats available usually. Flight is scheduled to arrive at 1450 hrs and was wondering if that was sufficient time to get the 1630hrs bus.
