Re: Maya Bay, One of Thailand's Most Famous Beaches Is Closing

The 'guardian' vs TAT........OK

The news of closure, all seem to be based on the same 'environmentalists' opinion that it should be. Not from gov't agency, Thai gov't agency, saying it will be.

I drove by it the other day, after leaving IMM and going southbound. Sign caught my eye, and would have stopped, but as usual..............no parking.

Re: One of Thailand's Most Famous Beaches Is Closing

Fake News ...... not closing. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/national/30338976 Here's the really sad part, nobody cares, as profits are so much more important. Posted elsewhere and sadly, from a tour operator: "This news comes up every single year on phi phi but it has not been confirmed yet...

Re: Smoking ex-pats

This is the bit I find truly interesting. Who gets to decide what legal things people are and aren’t entitled to do? Should people really stop vaping or feel like entitled arseholes because you find it a sickly smell? No, they should stop because technically, vaping is illegal in Thailand. The Gov'...

Re: Poor choice of dashcams on Lazada!

I got my present one from Lazada, and it's excellent, and standing the test of time. Quite a few years old now. Own 2 Yi cameras, and they're great, and fly them, UAVs, in the sun / heat all the time, and perform great. Never left them in the car for more than hour or two, and they worked fine after...

Re: Buying a house

Depends on m² of house, and size of land lot, along with assessment for that area, and your negotiating skill. Buyer / seller % of payment, -0-, 50 / 50 or 100 %.

Also what you tell them the house is sold for or what they tell you it's worth / assessed at.

Re: Shipping a laptop overseas

ThaiPost will not ship Lipo batteries either. They x-ray and will not forward. Had it happen to me, so don't bother trying ThaiPost.

They at least refunded the shipping cost, minus fee to BKK........ :D

Re: Drones/Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)

Now, on to more important things, and actually some better, accurate and up to date info, for those tourist and people living here, who wish to fly. Basically the same rules apply, but MUST REGISTER WITH NBTC, before flying, and actually a painless chore. CAAT flyer, is inaccurate, stating those wit...

Re: Drones/Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)

This is you standard size hobby grade quadcopter. Actually the one in vid is the CX-20, motor to motor dia is 360 mm. The XK X380 is almost 380 mm across. DJI Phantoms 2 / 3s, are 350 mm and usually the standard. And start at $500 USD. Much more expensive in Thailand, as prices above are USA pricing...
