Re: Elections delayed again, PM denies involvement

This is still the most stable Thai government for a long time which is actually getting things done.

Dictators or lets say non elected governments can and do last a long time, there are lots of them around, and other governments are very happy to work with them.

Re: Elections delayed again, PM denies involvement

He can deny all he wants, but most don't believe him anymore. No wonder his personal approval rating is down to nearly 35% and diving. Slowly and almost imperceptibly, a mood shift is talking place and protests are increasing. The saga of Prawit's watches and obvious double standards don't help, bu...

What would the beaches be like if it wasn’t for you guys and girls?
Unfortunately just as dirty as the government, local authority, plus the majority of Thai people do not care

Re: UK shifts visas for Thai nationals to India

I hope the reverse tit for tat isn't going to happen and we brits have to get visa decision-making centre from Deli also :( Regarding Indians they are brilliant in IT, I remember a colleague in the late 70's was writing computer programs in machine code with a pencil and paper, and explaining to me...

Re: Thais rank low again at English

I have said it many times, many Thai's see no benefit in learning English, especially if their circle of family and friends only ever speak Thai or Isaan.
I know all the reasons "we" believe they should learn English but they do not see it that way, so why worry, they don't

Re: MotoGP Thailand Grand Prix, Oct 2018

Great that Thailand has secured this event, just a shame it is in Buriram, so far from most places. Rossi said he was disappointed location as the track is boring, just a series on long straights.

I am constantly amazed by the fact that most of the bar girls speak and understand English better than the staff in my bank.
That is because the bar girls understand where the money comes from

Re: Another San Paulo story

Slightly off topic but a funny story (now), maybe SP Hospital is not so bad. I once worked in Botswana and had to attend David Livingstone Memorial Hospital (now Scottish Livingstone). When examined for extreme pain in my chest the doc tried to find my heart on the right side of my chest, then prono...

Re: British Passport renewal company in Hua Hin?

Don't forget that once you receive your new UK passport you then need a letter from the UK Embassy in Bangkok requesting Thai immigration to transfer your visa. So you still end up going to Bangkok to collect the letter, unless Key Visa will obtain that letter for you. Last time I obtained a letter...

Re: Another San Paulo story

I previously posted the following on another thread, but here it is again to highlight the incompetence of staff 1. I had a motorbike accident and was taken to SP, my back and chest were X-Rayed and I was told no broken bones. I returned and complained about severe pains in my back and chest, X-Ray ...

When I went with my daughter a year ago, she only had to produce copies of her old passport, which was well out of date.

So that would mean she was in Thailand illegally with no visa, how did you get around that one?
