Re: EVA Airways
Best of luck Lee, let us know how your flight with Oman air goes. I've often been tempted to use them as they are usually the cheapest however I'm a creature of habit so stick with EVA/Etihad as I know what I'm getting there. I've been using EVA a long time and used to recommend them to everyone, es...

Re: Cheapest place to rent a car?
Don't forget your International drivers license on the off chance your stopped by the BiB. Its a real money spinner up north and you'll be hammered for about 400 baht if you can't produce one along with your current license and passport when/if stopped. Slightly off topic but hopefully relevant. Enj...

Brits flee Bangkok boiler room
Interesting story on another bunch of con artists: - Six Britons have fled Bangkok after taking salesmen jobs there only to find out that they were being asked to work for one of the city’s notorious ‘Boiler Room’ scams. At least one, a card carrying member of Britain’s Labour Party, has lodged a co...

Re: A Typical Thai Response
If they same thing happened in the UK, do you really think that they would have shut the pool down and completely drained it. I don't think so. Actually I do think that is exactly what would have happened. Britain is health and safety crazy these days and has becoming increasingly more litigious (h...

Re: Hong Kong Bits & Pieces
Pete thank you so much!
There is a wealth of info here which will keep me going and researching for a while. I've just managed a quick squizz but will sit down and read it all in detail hopefully this evening.
Thanks again Pete you are a true HHAD legend!

Re: Perversion of paradise: British men fuel Thai sex trade
This is a Daily Mail article. It is the way that newspaper works. It is not representative of how Thailand is seen. Unfortunately Jim I would have to disagree with you on this point. In my personal experience rightly or wrongly Thailand IS viewed in this way. Both myself and my wife (who is Thai) h...

I haven't got my Apache license yet but I would pay to see what the dreadlocked, fisherman panted idiots would do if two Apaches come over the horizon with Ride of the Valkyries blaring out. They would probably just think it's just a drug induced hallucination and carry on dancing lol  John...

You forgot Tiffany and Alcazar Air Jaime. I wonder if airlines do an employment gender test? I think the above would win hands down, or hands up.....something? Just think, soft on the eyes but with muscles in case of in-flight emergencies. The mile high club for both men and women passenger...

Re: Car hire
Can he use his UK licence for this hire purpose or does it have to be an international one ?. I do not have any answers to the other questions, but in Thailand it is recommended to have an international driver's license. It is requested by law although Thailand is Thailand so it is most likely that...
