Re: How not to get sick on holiday in Thailand
Must admit that although only being a tourist on two to three weeks visit, I can’t remember over the last twelve years suffering from food induced stomach upsets. If anything the system seems better than at home. Although we eat out regularly all the establishments from western to the plastic table ...

Re: Banyan Residence and Surrounding Area
I invested in Banyan when it was in the planning stages. A guaranteed rental was one of the reasons. It paided out in the first year, after that nothing. It took a legal process to get a settlement to get my money back and only made a profit due to currency changes. If you still own a property on it...

Re: Bringing Golf Clubs into Thailand
Just been looking for flights to Thailand for Xmas. Looks like all airlines count golf clubs as standard check in luggage, I use Etihad and Emirates a lot when coming to Thailand. Etihad did transport golf clubs free up until middle of last year but not now. Most airlines allow you to buy excess lug...

Re: Your best eating places in Hua Hin
As been said before, recommending places is a matter of taste. So called experts on food are only expressing their own taste and to me hold as much revelance as any other comment. Two places I go to when in Hua Hin are Mr Mon on 112 and I thinks it's called the Hut down Takiab, both are plastic tabl...

No Sun Loungers on Takiab beach on a Wednesday
Just been to Takiab for the day and found most places shut and " no sun loungers" , no real reason given, but found out from a relative who lives here that she was told today that no loungers allowed on a Wednesday. You can have the lounger cushions and towel but not the lounger itself. Ca...

Re: Electric Mango
My wife and I ,who are visiting, were here on Sat 18th, guests of two couples who live in Hua Hin. The service was not great as most of the staff could not input the orders on the Tablets that are now used instead of the old paper trail. The food was really good, all of us commented on the good food...

Re: Is it Rip-Off Thailand?
We may get ripped off when buying some things in Thailand but as non Thai who only holidays there we are happy with the price in the end. As a Brit in the UK we get ripped off by everybody!

Re: Minivan, bus and road accidents
Only traveled in mini bus once between HH and BK and was surprised by how well it was driven. Only concern was all the loose luggage stacked up at the back. Nearest near miss was with a taxi that nearly ran into the back of a coach but tried changing lane into the inside that was occupied by a pick ...

Re: Thai folk and mental arithmetic
I think I must agree it's not only in Thailand. In the UK the easiest way to confuse checkout operators is to give a note larger than required amount plus coins for the amount of pence to make life easy. If you really want to shock them is to add up the cost before they scan the items through and gi...

Re: Court voids 'secured' foreigner property leases
Looks like I was lucky. I had one of these agreements at Banyan. All the problems that followed look minor to this. At least I got all my money back except a years rental, but this was more than covered by exchange rates. Thai law is a mine field, but there again the Spanish system is just as bad wh...

Re: Exchanging £50 Notes
It's not very often I've tried changing £50 notes in the UK but unless it's in a bank not many businesses are willing to take them. So it's no wonder that other countries will not accept them

Re: Huahinafterdark.com link not working
It's a short cut I had on home page that took me to HHAD home page which had the red back ground to the main page showing sponsors, link to forums and advertisers. This has been working this week. No great problem just changed my home page link to go straight to forums.

Huahinafterdark.com link not working
My usual link to HHAD brings a message that the domain name has expired. Huahinforum.com works ok. Are HHAD aware of the problem?
