Re: Vicious Thai gangs at Songkran

Should'n't the police be patrolling Bin Tabat that time of night? Ah well, TOT.
The thing for us farangs to do is to go home before midnight. After midnight you are on your own, and open prey.

Viscious gangs attacking farangs late night is not limited to Sonkran. This happens every night.

Re: Disappointing Hotel Service

Thanks for your responses. I should add that I picked the hotel for its combination of downtown location and parking facilities.. I'm sorry to hear that the attitude problem seems to be growing around Thailand. Too much success spoils it all. I shall certainly do my homework better next time I pick ...

Disappointing Hotel Service

My Thai wife and I have resided for some time in our house in the East. A few days ago we went back to Hua Hin to see old friends, and booked a "Deluxe Room" at the City Beach Hotel, supposedly one of HH´s better hotels. We booked, of course, through Hua Hin Forum´s excellent booking system and rece...

Looking for Lab for Testing Water

I wish to have a test made for our private water supply. Specifically for the contens of E-coli bacteria. Is there an independent, private lab in Hua Hin or Bangkok which would do such analysis? Any idea of the cost? I suppose I would bring a sample of the water to the lab myself - I don't need some...

Immigrations opening hrs around New Year

I plan to return to Hua Hin on or around January 1. I suppose I must go to Immigrations for 90 days reporting on arrival. What are the opening hours around New Year? Please advise. Thanks.

Trip to Vientiane, Laos

I wish to visit Ventiane in Laos. These are my questions: 1) Is there a direct flight from Bangkok to Ventiane, or will I have to fly to Udon Thani and from there by bus? 2) I might drive there by my own car (registered in my Thai wife´s name). Are there special requirements or problems driving the ...

Re: Dengue fever in Hua Hin?

I saw a nice product in Australia, a cream with a sun blocker and mosq repellent in the same cream. Thanks for your response. It would be of value if you could provide the name of the product and whether it´s available in Thailand. The fact that you saw "a nice product in Australia" does´t help muc...

Re: Dengue fever in Hua Hin?

I presume there are no official THAI studies on the effectiveness of mosquito repellants. In your opinion, and from what you know, What is the best mosquito repellant you can by in LOS?
