Re: Life in Thailand Poll #1 (Thaksin)
@Buksida: Hey I think Thaky's a shithead too, a poor man's Berlusconi. I voted 'yes' because he's still well popular so he's bound to come back at some point. Sooner better than later I say. Let him back in and take away his 'martyr' status. Let him get chucked out the old-fashioned way: at the ball...

Re: Life in Thailand Poll #1 (Thaksin)
How about this bit of pendantry: in Bkk and Central Thailand the Dems won 48 seats, while PTP won 51 seats. (breakdown: Central, D- 25 Bkk, D- 23. Central, PTP- 41 Bkk- 10) So the PTP won the Northeast, the North and Central Thailand. The dems won Bkk and the South. Pendant that I am, this strikes m...

Re: Life in Thailand Poll #1 (Thaksin)
Pretty map, but my point remains, there's a lot of red on that map that isn't located in Issan, in fact 165 out 265 seat's worth.

Re: Life in Thailand Poll #1 (Thaksin)
Good idea on the weekly poll :thumb: As for Toxin, well he has shown his true colours by selling off state assets, accrued by abuse of power during his tenure, to a foreign country and then refusing to pay tax. However if the 'majority' of Thai people (read: Issan) wants Thailand to be managed and ...

Re: The unofficial farang election poll
Well I hope the army stays home. Let PT govern if they win a majority. Putting up with a government you cant stomach is part of democracy and it's time for Thailand to show a little political maturity. It should also be considered that a coup that is so clearly seen to thwart the voice of the plural...

Re: The unofficial farang election poll
Methinks it's a PT landslide...so I ticked #1, but I can see the army kicking that result to touch. No matter what, I hope the soldierboys stay in their barracks. If there's a coup just before or after a big PT vote, it won't be all smiles and garlands like last time. It'll get real messy, real quic...

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
In all modern sport it's usually the kiss of death if the general manager avows to keep a player, but I think there's a chance we keep Modric ...time will tell. 22 million bids from Chelsea don't scare me, but 35 or 40 mil from Man U will be hard to refuse for Levy.

Thanks for the great, detailed hotel review Barry. If ever in PKK Town I'll certainly try the Had Thong Hotel.

Re: Do you use the 'ignore' function or not?
I haven't used it in the past and can't see using it in the future, but I do ignore the odd post the old fashion way; I just scroll past it. That being said, this is a fairly "neighbourly" forum and if I scroll past a post here, it's not because someone's having a pop or being otherwise of...
