Re: Chiang Mai Listed Where Couple Can Retire for US$1,500/month

Chiang Mai is also listed as the most polluted city on Earth. I'm amazed at that. Having visited Chiang Mai (admittedly years ago) but also many polluted cities in China and several other locations around the world including the likes of Delhi, Bhopal, Calcutta, Mumbai (you get the gist with India)...

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is out. Sure it'll be good fun https://yts.mx/movies/ghostbusters-frozen-empire-2024 Downloaded the 1080 copy, but certainly not BluRay or usual YTS standard - don't know what's happened there. Have deleted and will wait a little while longer and try again. Thanks for th...

Re: E-books and e-book readers

I'd like to read After Hastings , an alternate history novel by Steven H Silver (Harold wins the Battle of Hastings), but I can't find it on Z library, Anna's archive or Pirate Bay. It's available on Amazon for over £30, but I don't want to read it that much... Can any of you Internet whizz...

Re: Chiang Mai Listed Where Couple Can Retire for US$1,500/month

........The LHG has got to the point where she wants to bin her Chinese Passport and get a British/UK one as she feels the UK has taken better care of her than China/Asia ever have. It's a conversation that is difficult to be sure, but...... Can't she keep both if she gets UK citizenship? She has a...

Hell, I've visited many countries and worked in them for far longer than just the few weeks vacation when you fall in love with the sun, sea and well.... I have to be honest in saying despite things being stupidly expensive, I will stay in Wales - a beautiful country I live in the Wye Valley close t...

Re: Euros 2024

Fk sake. Indeed..... :( Well, we have a few decent players, but ultimately we've not exactly impressed. Disaster of a World Cup and only a couple of decent results recently got us close - bit shitty going out on penalties though :banghead: Rob Page's days must be numbered, but I wouldn't have a clu...

Re: Travel: Asia & Further Afield

Anywho, seems the LHG's current Schengen Visa expires on the 20th of April so she wants a long weekend in France before having to apply again (which will hopefully be easier - and longer lasting). Being the complete "Romantic" that I am, I may just see what rugby is on as that can be a hel...

Re: Travel: Asia & Further Afield

There was a thing years ago in the US where you could literally get a hire car for free. This entailed returning/delivering the car to another of the company's offices/locations. If memory serves (it doesn't normally) this was usually between airports and they would give you the car (and fuel, insur...
