Re: What are the TV service options in Hua Hin.

I use Mucho TV via internet and android box. can also run via computer. All UK channels and more, 7 day recorded playback. Google it, you get one hour free per day to trial. Subscriptions get cheaper per month if you opt for longer periods, monthly on demand, monthly .quarterly, or annually re-occu...

Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi

... it would be more prudent regarding sharks and sea life around Hua Hin for a English speaker to ask a local with local knowledge, who have far more knowledge on this subject, than any of us English speakers on this forum :) I very rarely ask a Thai about anything to do with wildlife, as I find t...

Re: Which car would you feel safest in Thailand

I think the only SUVs based on s truck with the lousy suspension are the big ones like Fortuner and similar. I think you'll find that the Pajero and Fortuner are more than 'similar'. I think if you go back three models, the Fortuner had leaf spring suspension, but that largely affected the comfort ...

Re: Is pla-ra safe to eat?

The main health risk from uncooked pla ra (liver cancer) has nothing to do with the fermentation process, the smell or bacteria, it comes from the liver flukes commonly found in the fish used for pla ra. The following are extracts from a BBC article entitled, "Deadly dish: the dinner that can give ...

Re: Which car would you feel safest in Thailand

Which ??? The one I'm driving. Car doesn't matter, it's the driver that makes the machine safe. Very true, but the reality is that no matter how good a driver YOU may be, there will always be somebody else who is not in the least bit interested in your safety and will carry out all of the bad pract...

Re: Massive exodus from Bangkok - 7 deadly days of Songkran begin

226 killed in 2017 248 killed in 2018 I make that a difference of 9.28% so where does this 0.4% come from? Another criticism of Thai education. Forgetting the accuracy of the percentages, the biggest issue is that the authorities were supposed to be making a big issue about the measures they were t...

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

I think you're probably right there dundrillin. We were in heavy traffic Sunday, so I drove fairly slowly - I'd anticipated the volume of traffic, and gave myself plenty of time. However, I'd say 90% of the crazies on the road (high speeds/weaving in and out of traffic) were pickups, loaded with em...

Re: Thai Airways Chocolate Teapot

How many massively obese Thai people do you see compared to Farang. Not many. Its another farang-humiliation strategy. When last were you in Thailand, or if you are here, then when last did you leave your home and have a look around? Back in the 1990s, or even in the early 2000s, I would have agree...

One of the small hotels near the Marriot--- close to the beach, close to Soi 80
Thanks oakdale160. How far is Thipurai from the Marriot?
The Thipurai Beach Hotel is very close to the Marriott- next Soi I believe.

I knew I could rely on you to provide an explanation that I wouldn’t fully understand- thanks.
Sorry, what part do you not understand?
Most of it, if I’m honest, but let’s leave it there as I’m happy to remain ignorant, especially now that the main supply has been reconnected. Thanks
