Any flooding in Hua Hin this month or in previous years?
Hello,
Curious if there has been any flooding in the Hua Hin area this season or in previous years, and which quarters tend to be affected?
Any river nearby which could burst its banks?
Thanks!

Authorisation to define signature
Hello,
I believe I have just found out why I cannot (yet) add a signature to my posts.
It seems you must have posted at least 10 posts before becoming eligible.
Please, confirm to end my bafflement.
Kind regards,
Mike aka "Major Bloodnok"

Foreign currency account
G'day,
I assume it's not possible to open a foreign currency (Euro) account with a Thai bank.
It would be convenient to have two accounts, one Euro, one Baht though.
Thanks for your advice anyway.
Kind regards,
Mike aka "Major Bloodnok"

Thanks for your valuable advice
Good afternoon all of you chaps, just settled in my office. I communicate via my office computer. Buying a private pc can wait till I move to Hua Hin. I do appreciate your advice, but persuading the missus will not be easy. At least we may extend our exploratory stay to 3 weeks or more to make a mor...

Why do I have to buy a house first of all?
Well, we have been living in rented accomodation here in Germany since 1979. My wife is adamant we should not have to bother to pay a monthly rent any more. A small inheritance should allow us to pay for a Hua Hin bungalow in cash, living on our combined pensions. Question: Why am I not authorised t...

Hello Spitfire,
many thanks for your reply.
I do like your avatar and nickname. Most probably a new Spitfire Calendar will adorn one of my office walls next year.
Have a nice day.
Kind regards,
Mike

Re: New member: 553 Days to go till my retirement!
SteveG & icebear, many thanks for welcoming me to this site. Lots of things to plan and prepare, before we finally make the big move. First of all we have to buy a house - in May 2012. I believe I shall enjoy participating in both forums, the English and the German one. Our systematic planning w...

G'day mates, :) German :alien: librarian, 60, looking forward to his retirement and hoping to move with his wife to Hua Hin around May/June 2012. Also hoping to establish a good rapport with all of you Brits, Irish, Aussies and Kiwis. Great fan of international Rugby Union. Have a nic...
