Re: Leaving a bar
I don't think belittling the OP is the right thing to do. What's done is done. The least we can do, especially from those of us that have been here long enough to know the ropes, is give him our best advice and wish him well. Thankyou for that, I expected, of course, the usual 'what a prat, I know ...

Re: Leaving a bar
With respect, while she may be an "asset" to the bar, the same as any pretty girl in a bar anywhere in the world, she is still a human being and a casual employee, not property or an asset to be sold by someone else. Just because something is customary does not make it right. The above is...

Re: "saying No" !! to Thais.....
I would question her authenticity, and get a Thai friend or wife to grill her for a few minutes and see what transpires. There are far too many scams here where people latch on to a cause and milk it to stuff their own pockets. Pete  I watch if the person also approaches local Thais and see...

Re: Leaving a bar
I will ignore those who feel a sarcastic remark is an appropriate response to a genuine question
Of couse a receipt was not wanted, it was just to be an awkward sod and see the owner's response

I recently went away for a few days and the missus asked if her friend could come with us, I said OK but she pays her own way. OK,OK So I book/pay for the ticket'. After we get back, still no money forthcoming for the ticket so I ask missus to have a word with friend and get the money. She comes bac...

Boyfriend says OK but wants proper receipt for the money from the owner stating what the money was paid for. Ow...

Re: Property tax liability
I recently sold my house here. The bank would not transfer money back to the UK without proof (as in bank transfer letters). Luckily I had kept a paper copy of all transactions. I was given to understand that you cannot transfer out more than you brought in. I paid no tax
