If you've spent your weekend going down to Margate, paying over the odds for food and drink is likely to be the LEAST o your disappointments :p

Violin Teacher Wanted (Thai or English language)

Hello

My girlfriend has recently acquired a violin, as it has been a life time ambition to be able to play. She now needs some lessons. Does anybody know of anybody, Thai or English speaking, who can provide lessons?

Re: BBC iPlayer going Worldwide

The only thing I tend to like the BBC for is F1, and I'm certain that won't be available worldwide! Looks like I'll be sticking with a proxy server/VPN

Charaties operating in the local area

In the past I have spent some time arranging events to raise awareness and/or money for local charaties here in the United Kingdom. When I move to Hua Hin I would also like to be able 'give a little back' to the community. Now, I know Thailand doesn't make it easy to do charity work as a foreigner, ...

Re: best way from hua hin to cha am

Looks like sangthaew is not an option. If we go by train I get the impression that the train station is some way from the beach road. Is this correct. Presume Tuk Tuks would be around Tuk Tuks are not around. You'll find motorcycle taxis and maybe the odd car or two. There are plenty of motorcycle ...

Re: Living the Thai way as an expat, hygine, Local Markets e

Yes, I agree, but however, I make better pasta and sauce than most of the Italian restaurants in Hua Hin and it's easy and cheaper! My wife makes better Thai food than most of the restaurants in Hua Hin but it costs more or close to the same so we usually go out for that. Unfortunately Pas...

Re: Living the Thai way as an expat, hygine, Local Markets e

I said to myself that I would start cooking here, but apart from bacon and sausages in the morning ( soi 41) I haven't really made anything. Sorry for getting dangerously close to back on topic but... One of the main reasons driving me towards a move here is the appeal of never having to cook for m...

Re: best way from hua hin to cha am

Trains run fairly frequently between cha-am and hua hin take about 40 minutes and, on my last check (which was a good couple of years ago) prices range from 6bt, for a daytime train thru 26 baht for the last train at night. If you decide to get the train, get on a motorcycle taxi to the beach, you c...

Re: Longest Forum Member

a string of computer speak followed by the bit about 'view profile = 2 ', can't be right that. The question I've always wondered about is, "Who is profile 1?" Maybe it's some designated computer identity inherent in the software or something. If I'm wrong on that then it would be interest...
